5 Simple Steps to Start Feeling Better

Feeling exhausted, foggy, or just not like yourself? Start with the basics. Your body responds powerfully to small daily rhythms.
1. Balance your blood sugar with real food and regular meals
2. Prioritize play and rest, your nervous system needs both
3. Move your body daily, even gentle movement counts
4. Get quality sleep and protect your nighttime routine
5. Get sunlight in your eyes early in the day to support your circadian rhythm

You don’t need a complicated protocol to start feeling better. Often the most powerful changes are the simplest ones, practiced consistently.

Which one do you need to focus on most right now?

The “right time” almost never comes.

Life will always be busy.
There will always be stress, work, responsibilities.

Waiting for perfect timing is how people stay stuck for years.

Your health journey starts when you decide it matters even when life isn’t ideal.

What’s one small thing you could start today? 👇

One of the best and simplest things you can do for your health especially your nervous system is play.

For me that means getting outdoors specifically in the woods.

It’s my happy place. I love exploring trails and finding all the mud.

Play tells our system it’s safe, and we heal when we feel safe.

Whatever it is for you, find ways to play. Bonus points if you can incorporate 15 minutes of play a day.

If every sickness hits harder and lasts longer, it’s probably not your immune system “failing.”
It’s your daily choices.

Your immune system isn’t a switch you flip when you get sick.
It’s built daily.

Sugar and ultra processed foods suppress immune response, increase inflammation, and keep you sick longer.
That “comfort food” is comfort for your dopamine, not your immune system.

So yes, you can keep choosing quick hits that feel good now, or you can feed your body in a way that actually helps you recover.

Immune support starts on your plate, not in a supplement aisle when you’re already miserable.

Choose dopamine or choose resilience.

Your move.

Tired of eggs day in and day out?? Me too! This week I’m trying something different-breakfast soup aka soup at breakfast. Rich in protein, fiber, and warming ingredients to keep my tummy full without the egg ick. Comment if you want the recipe.

Everyone talks about “flu season” like germs suddenly get stronger in the winter. The truth is, our bodies often get more depleted this time of year.

Less sunlight
More stress
Less sleep
More sugar
Holidays, schedules, pressure, nonstop stimulation

Chronic stress suppresses the immune system. Your body shifts resources toward survival mode, not repair mode, which means it has a harder time fighting what it comes in contact with.

So supporting your immune system is not only about hand sanitizer and supplements. It is also about supporting your nervous system.

Helpful places to focus right now:

• consistent, earlier sleep
• real meals with protein, not just snacks
• electrolytes and water
• time outdoors and sunlight when you can
• intentional stress regulation, prayer, breathwork, walking
• saying no to some obligations without guilt

Your body heals best when it feels safe.

Flu season is real, but so is your God-designed capacity to recover and be resilient when you care for your basics.

Comment “resilient” if you are focusing on nervous system care this season.
