I eat the same thing for breakfast every.day.

Do I get bored? Occasionally, but I’ll change the carb I eat and it’s a whole new meal.

Why do I eat the same thing everyday?
1. Helps fight decision fatigue
2. I know it’ll keep me full
3. It’s quick and easy and tasty
4. I like to get a lot of protein early in the day.

Do you believe you can still be healthy and eat “junk food”? (*I hate using the term junk)

These are the foods you may have been told to cancel from your diet.

For some people, junk food can play an important role in their overall health, especially when consumed **intentionally**.

There’s more to the story than “junk foods are bad for you, so you should never eat them.”

There is a lot of emphasis on setting goals (ex. lose 20lbs) and then following program (ex. a diet) to achieve those goals.

📝When it comes to goals, we’re taught to think about what we want to accomplish. Then we’re supposed to make the goal specific measurable, attainable, etc.

What happens once we’ve done all that? When we’ve set the ultimate goal?

For most people, not much.

That’s because goals aren’t achieved through the mere act of setting them. And goals aren’t achieved through sheer force of will. 🎯

Success actually follows a different process. The formula looks like this:
1. Practice daily to build skills.
2. Build skills to achieve goals.

Some people called this approach habit based, others call at practice based.

It’s a tale as old as time: you tell yourself you can’t have something and that’s all you can think about until you have that thing, then you want all of it.

A better approach: tell yourself you *can* have that thing. Heck, eat some everyday if you want (in moderation of course). After a bit you’ll notice your cravings for it decreasing and it won’t be as triggering 🙃

Motivation, if anything, is an outcome.

You can’t control motivation. It can’t directly be pursued.

What you can control is the series of factors that underpin motivation.

Just knowing this
can help you:
*stop waiting for a green light to get started
*realize that, even if it’s hard, taking action gets you closer to the goal that keeps you up at night
*understand that doing the right thing in the moment is totally within your control

With this approach, no matter what happens, you can move forward and make progress on any given day. And that progress, even if small, feels good and can be enough to keep you going
. Until the next day.

This is how you achieve great things.

Yes it might be a long, slow, hard journey. But when we look back on our lives, what we remember most will be the things that we’re worth struggling for - and the way it felt to earn our happiness.

When you fixate on what you can’t control, you get stuck in negativity. Progress stalls and life feels harder than it should.

By placing your attention on what you CAN control, you’ll feel calmer and like you can crush your day.
