While I've been very active with lots of walking, stair climbing, and occasional workouts at Institute of Well Being at Towson University, yesterday I took it up a big notch!! Looking forward to frequent workouts, strength development and hopefully going from Sharpei to sleek Labrador. :) Linda and I both joined Planet Fitness yesterday. Envigorating hour long workout. Stayed at THR most of the time. Love the sweat.

Down to 230, shoulder pain and limited range of motion seems to be finally subsiding. Seeming to be getting more cat calls than I've ever received in my life. Feels good to feel great. Leading final portion of Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center Bariatric Surgery Support Group meeting this Wednesday in a very special way, along with my friend and colleague, Dr. Bill Geiger. Looking forward to that.

About a week ago, I reached this milestone documented below. 100 pounds lost since starting the pre-op diet 2 weeks before surgery. Also just finished last refills of preventative gall bladder and reflux meds I was on after the surgery. Beginning to hear lots of echos in the medicine cabinet!!

And so it begins. Starting my pre-surgical diet this morning. Linda joining me in strong support and to lose some weight herself. 5 shakes per day and zero calorie drinks. No caffeine or carbonation. Ugh!! :)

Use of meal replacements before and after weight loss surgery is an increasingly common occurrence for both medical and nutritional reasons. Meal replacements may also be used in post-operative patients to simply assure adequate protein and nutrients while patients are phasing back into eating a mor…

Greetings from Boston! On a glorious little vacation with Linda, spending time with my wonderful in-laws, and celebrating the 6th month anniversary of the surgery on the 6th of July. I feel wonderful carrying close to 100 Lbs less than I used to, eliminated many debilitating health conditions I used to have, and working on the rest. No more diabetes. No more sleep apnea. Only taking a few daily pills along with vitamins and calcium supplements.

Heading to the beach to show off my ...... ...beach bod!!!! :) Very proud of losing a person. Less IS More....more vitality, more health, more life expectancy, more comfort, more happiness, more confidence, and more options for seating at restaurants and theme park rides. :)

After recent sleep study, my pulmonologist is sending documentation to MVA declaring my OSA (sleep apnea) "resolved" and no longer needing CPAP treatment. Another in the long line of benefits of obesity eradication. 100 ponds, here I come!!

Declared "cured!!" of diabetes this morning by my P*P. Will continue monitoring glucose but no more meds at all. Just good health and improving each day!!

Down to 245 yesterday. Can't believe it. Coming up on the 100 pound mark. When I get to 220, i'll be assessing where I am and deciding how much farther to go, if any. So exciting to be reinventing myself one day at a time. New acronym: STU Skinny Tiny Unlimited!!!!

Down to 255 Lbs and slithering into size 42 slacks. Unbelievable! Pics coming. That is all.

Latest installment in my Less is More: Stu Needel's Descent Into Health ongoing documentary of my lifestyle metamorphosis. Make sure you Like the page (not just this post) and you'll be alerted each time I post an update and be able to post comments and well wishes if you'd like. Feeling proud and......lighter.
