The Shoulder is a faith-based, nonprofit treatment center offering affordable, compassionate addiction recovery services for men and women on the Gulf Coast. Since 1985, we’ve helped individuals and families reclaim their lives through structured programs rooted in faith, accountability, and support. We offer:

Outpatient Services

Workplace Education & Drug-Free Workplace Programs

Speaking Engagements & Community Education

Individual Intake Assessments for those seeking help with substance use

Our facilities are located in Spanish Fort and Baldwin County, Alabama, with services extending across the Gulf Coast. Our mission is simple: restore lives from addiction—one person, one day at a time.

At The Shoulder, we believe in healing, hope, and standing together - both in recovery and in the fight against cancer. We honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we’ve lost.

This month, our team at The Shoulder traded in the office for some fun at Surge Entertainment in Mobile! 🎉

Our staff development outing gave us the chance to celebrate the many successes of the past fiscal year, enjoy some well-earned team building, and cheer on our Employee of the Month, Monty Glass. 👏

We’re grateful for such a dedicated group who pour their hearts into supporting our mission every day and who also know how to have a little fun together! 💛

As Judge Taylor reminded us last night - no matter how many times someone has tried before, as long as they are alive, there is still hope for recovery.

And as we often say at The Shoulder, our work is a team sport. It takes all of us - staff, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and our incredible community - working together to build stronger communities and transform the lives of our clients and their families.
