Settling blood sugar after a sugar-holiday!

*Get water flowing… a big glass before breakfast and lots of sips through day.
*Do NOT skip meals! This may be tempting but it doesn’t support stabilizing blood sugar levels. Think protein for meals!
*Increase gut health by having some bone-broth (soups), teas, lemon water.
*Go for a walk! Your body and mood will thank you 😊

This was on my mind yesterday while taking a hike through Scott County Park: savoring the beauty of colors, warm breeze and rustling leaves, as well as thoughts of winter coming. I continued to try to stay in present moment of the beauty around me, but it kept leading me to what’s to come! Acceptance- And a plan to return to this park in the winter- A wish to appreciate the winter, like I do the Fall.

What are your limiting beliefs about your body or about your eating plan? Do you compare yourself to others, thinking that you have terrible DNA and no chance to have a lean body? Are you perfectionist and think that you have to follow a rigid plan 24/7 and if you have a donut before lunch that you have ruined the day so might as well eat whatever and start over tomorrow? Do you start extreme workouts, only to be overwhelmed and extremely sore, leading you to quit?

All of these examples are considered distortions. These distortions or thinking errors are sabotaging and get Iin the way way of progress. If you do All or Nothing thinking and/or Perfectionism in your dieting, it is likely you do that in other areas of your life too. Addressing distortions is an important step toward a healthy mentality about your body, weight loss and nutrition. Let me know if I can help you sort out and challenge these beliefs in a way that brings about long-term change.

I have to share my Happy Accident! So I usually make chia pudding a few times a month- I typically put raspberries and a little more almond milk w a smidge of truvia. I was out of raspberries and I had one pear on its last day before going in garbage so decided to experiment. Cut up the pear, added a little cinnamon & stevia to the chia pudding and WOW it was amazingly similar to apple pie filling! Delicious! So fun to try out new things! Give it whirl 😋. ( I didn’t think to take a picture of my creation as I was tuned into how scrumptious it was).

-this is a recognition that our relationships, career, spiritual practice and exercise are connected to our nutrition and physical health. It includes tuning into your bio-individuality and eating intuitively so that your body and mind can operate at the highest potential. Nutrition and personal growth are related; you cannot look at one without the other.

#5 Core Belief-Enlightened Health Coaching

FOOD CHANGES EVERYTHING! From your blood to your DNA, you are what you eat. It has the power to regenerate you or not! In addition, there are basic food and lifestyle changes that can help everyone: *eat more vegetables and fruit, *drink more water, *reduce stress (via exercise and/or mindfulness) and *prioritize sleep.

If you are beginning a new health journey- just pick one thing a week and add one at a time! What is one thing you want to start with?
