I met this chic at Pride. We were both sweating under the sun fighting for shade under the same rainbow 🌈 flag. It felt like fate. It would be my first rainbow relationship. We started dating that same week. Matching sneakers, posting soft launch pics, sharing iced coffee like we were in rom-com.
But reality kicked in. She would get mad if I didn’t react fast enough to her memes; like sorry I was driving, I will laugh at the SpongeBob clip later. She said I was selfish because I didn’t save red Skittles for her. We argued over it like we were in court.
The beginning of the end was Karaoke night.🤦🏽♀️
I was clapping off beat to Beyoncé, minding my business and she leaned over and “whispered, This is why we will never work.” And that was it. She broke up with me.
So yeah, our rainbow didn’t end with a pot of gold. It ended with me taking my Netflix back, and she still holding my favorite hoodie hostage 🌈 😂
