Quick Five for your Kids

1). Stop putting your child's name on backpacks, clothing, public social media posts and your car. If a stranger knows your child's name, your child is more likely to trust them.

2). Every family should have a code word. Your child should never leave with anyone (even if they know them) without hearing that code word. NO CODE WORD=NO GO

3). Always keep an updated photo. Every few months, get a new full body shot and a clear face shot. You don't want to use a photo from when they were two when they're actually seven.

4). Don't teach your child to be polite no matter what. Teach them if an adult feels weird, scary or pushy, you're allowed to run and yell.

5). Your child should have memorized their full name, parents name, one parent's phone number and home address. Don't rely on their cell phone or tablet. They die, get lost or stolen.

1. If a stranger asks you to "help find their pet," DON'T GO. This is one of the oldest abduction tricks.

2. If someone grabs you, shout "FIRE!". Not "Help.". People react faster to chaos.

3. Your phone should never be below 30%. Dead Battery = Dead Lifeline

4. Always share your live location with your loved ones when meeting someone new.

5. Wake up smelling smoke? CRAWL. The air you need is down low.
