Scorched Souls M/C BROTHERHOOD. SELFLESSNESS. LOYALTY. RESPECT. We are a motorcycle club of firemen who have been scorched both literally and figuratively by our profession.

We ride to promote the brotherhood, camaraderie, and morals we believe in. We have been shaped by our experiences and give the utmost respect to the institution of firefighting and the traditions it embraces. We dedicate our efforts to supporting our members and their families, our fire service brethren, our departments, and charities. The mission of this club shall be carried out through the honorable, professional and safe actions of the club members. Scorched Souls M.C. flies a Washington D.C. bottom patch to honor the scores of brothers who have made the ultimate sacrifice to the citizens and visitors of the District of Columbia. Scorches Souls M.C. is a Neutral Club that rides in respect of all other clubs and expects the same in return.

The brothers of S.S.M/C send our condolences to the men and women of the DC Fire/EMS Department for the passing of Battalion Chief Long.

The Department regrets to announce the line-of-duty death of Battalion Fire Chief Keith T. Long, who passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Battalion Chief Long was appointed to the Department on 12/19/1988. Battalion Fire Chief Long was currently serving as a Safety Battalion Chief at the time of his passing.

Battalion Fire Chief Long served the residents and visitors of the District for 38 years.
