What an inspiring community of dedicated individuals this morning! ✨Something to keep in mind as we head into the holiday festivities… just how much movement does it take to work off a classic turkey dinner? 🤔

A traditional holiday feast can easily reach 3,000 calories—and burning that off takes more time than most of us realize. For the average adult:

🚶‍♀️‍➡️Walking: ~9 hours
🏃‍♂️ Jogging: ~5 hours
🏊‍♂️ Dancing or swimming: ~7 hours
🏋️‍♀️ Weight lifting: ~8+ hours

Exact numbers vary based on your meal, your body, and your movement, but one thing is clear: it adds up! 😳

So instead of stressing about the calories, enjoy your plate, savor the moment, and remember—movement is about feeling good, not “earning” food. Let the season be full of joy, connection, and a little extra fresh air when you can. 🍂🧡🍂

✨Fresh guidance is coming this January!✨

Our instructor, Shelly, has taken a deep dive into nutrition and completed an intensive, research-based Food as Medicine program. We can’t wait for you to experience the fresh perspective she’s bringing to the new year.

Some very high-level take-aways…

The Standard American Diet (SAD) is responsible for 90% of preventable diseases. (let that sink in!!) 😳 The eating choices we make are packed with empty calories from processed foods. We are a country of diseased, obese, yet malnourished individuals.

SAD largely consists of processed foods, sugar, alcohol, unhealthy oils, commercially processed meats, fast and frozen foods. These foods cause inflammation. Inflammation causes disease. ☹️

Alarming? Absolutely! 😳
Can you change this? Absolutely! 😃

Name of the game…Food as Medicine! Consume anti inflammatory foods. Cut out inflammation-causing foods. Consume loads of colorful veggies and fruit, whole, plant-based foods, organic grass fed (and finished!) animal products and foods rich in Omega 3’s.

Starting January 2026 Shelly will educate and empower you to take an active role in the restoration of your health with a personalized 12 week plan.
