This here is where it happened.

I finally got my butt up and did a workout. It's honestly been awhile. I let life get in the way and become my excuse.

I was always too tired, the kids needed me more, my husband needed me, my dog needed me, my job, my students...

Turns out, I needed me too. I needed me to put myself first. I needed me to wake up and get it done so I can feel accomplished, get my endorphins going and pull myself out of the slump I've been stuck in for a long time.

Day one is done. One day finally happened (again).

My #1 BEST TIP TO STAY ON TRACK WITH HEALTHY EATING & WEIGHT-LOSS

Stop 🛑 buying junk food & brining it into your home. You were probably waiting for some huge secret but time & time again this is the reason people struggle, because the temptation is there. I hear people say all the time “I have to have it on hand for my kids” “ my husband likes to have it.” You don’t HAVE to have it on hand for your kids. They don’t need to ear junk food all the time either. If it’s a significant other that wants it, I suggest asking if they are ok buying a single serving size to have just for themselves. Talk to them about your goals and ask for their support. Your loved ones should want you to be healthy, they should want you to succeed and they should be willing to help you do that. So if you have a cabinet, cupboard, pantry or freezer stocked with food that you know will derail you from your goals, get rid of it, immediately! Set yourself up for success.

Today's workout was due to the extra weight brought on by carrying this sweet girl and life in general.

My main goal is yes to lose some weight but also to feel like myself again so I can be more present for my children.

I want to run and play with them for years to come. That requires being physically able and energy to do so. Working out is a small start to being able to be the best mom I can be.

To be honest the 10 months+ I took off from my workouts was nice. I liked the extra sleep because pregnancy is real! I'm so happy to get my body moving again though. ⁣

The other day I did a thing most who know me wouldn't believe...I woke up with the sun when I didn't have to. ⁣

I love my sleep! I woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep so I decided to get up, read and get in a workout. ⁣

It was amazing how much better my day went when I made time for me. I was able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, read some inspiration and sweat. ⁣

This was a day for making memories. ⁣

I could've stayed home, sat in the car or stayed on the beach. ⁣

Instead, I put on the suit and created memories with my family. ⁣

I didn't look "perfect" but I did look happy. I was happy and that's what my son will remember. He will remember how mom got in the water and helped him swim, splashed and played in the sand. ⁣

Life will go by no matter what. You get one chance to make the most of it. Create the memories, smile, have fun and put on the damn suit! ⁣

I've let way too many things stop me from trying to achieve a better version of myself; he is not one. ⁣

He is one of the biggest and best reasons to become better, more fit, less anxious and so much more. He deserves that and so do I. ⁣

He watched me as I pushed through each move, encouraged me and even joined me.⁣
