COLD WEATHER ADVISORY:
Colder-than-normal temperatures are expected this week. Forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate wind chills dropping to the mid 20s to mid 30s, which can be dangerous for individuals without adequate shelter or heating.
To assist those in need, The Neighborhood Center Bridge Shelter will open a Cold Weather Shelter on:
Monday, January 26, through Thursday, January 29.
📍 Location: 421 S. Palmetto Ave., DeLand
⏰ Arrival: Starting at 5:00 p.m.
⏰ Departure: Around 8:00 a.m. the following morning
🍳 Breakfast provided
Votran is providing free rides to The Bridge. Those in need can also contact The Neighborhood Center at (386) 734-8120 ext. 601, and staff there will see if there is anything they can do to help with transportation.
Please stay warm and check on neighbors, seniors, and pets during this cold weather.
