When the world feels heavy, I return to a post with an image similar to this one from a few years ago by because it reminds me that when my circle of concern gets too much bigger than my circle of control I am stretched thin.
This doesn't mean I ignore everything outside the circle of control. Rather I acknowledge there are people better equipped to handle those problems and actually make a change. So I support them and do what I can within my circle of control to make changes.
What does this look like?
When the world just seems so evil β‘οΈ I take extra attention to be kind to those that wrong me in my day to day, as thats how we stop the cycle of anger in our community.
I see the same thing at a smaller level in postpartum. Moms distraught with everything about their baby when much of it is out of their control.
What does this look like?
When the baby will only nap when held β‘οΈ Accept that this is a normal biological need and use the time for rest, a walk, or using a baby carrier for household tasks.
