In 859 CE, Fatima al-Fihri used her inheritance to establish a mosque and center of learning in Fez, Morocco.

For centuries, scholars gathered there to study theology, law, mathematics, and astronomy.
Her vision created more than a building.
It created a lasting legacy of learning.
