Top 5 Peptides You Do Not Want to Be Sleeping On 🧬
As a nurse practitioner, I get asked about peptides all the time.
These are some of the most talked about patient goals right now and each peptide for that goal:
1️⃣ Epithalon (Epitalon)
Goal: anti-aging + longevity
A peptide studied for its potential role in cellular aging and longevity, often discussed in relation to telomere lengthening, circadian rhythm regulation, and cognitive support. Popular for longevity and anti-aging goals.
2️⃣ Tirzepatide
Goal: weight management + food cravings
A dual GLP-1/GIP agonist used clinically for metabolic health and weight management. Known for effects on appetite regulation, insulin sensitivity, and cardiometabolic risk factors.
3️⃣ Sermorelin
Goal: body composition changes
A growth hormone releasing peptide that stimulates the body’s natural GH production. Commonly discussed for body composition, recovery, sleep quality, and age-related GH decline.
4️⃣ SS-31 (Elamipretide)
Goal: improve fatigue, low energy, improve endurance, improve mental fog/cognition
A mitochondrial-targeted peptide studied for cellular energy and oxidative stress support. Gaining attention in performance, fatigue, and longevity research.
5️⃣ PT-141 (Bremelanotide)
Goal: improve libido
A peptide used to increase libido by working on the brain’s signaling pathways rather than blood flow. PT-141 influences the melanocortin system involved in arousal and motivation and is FDA-approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women, with ongoing off-label use and research in other populations.
🩺 Important note:
Not all peptides are FDA-approved for every use discussed online. Many are off-label or investigational, and safety, dosing, and appropriateness should always be evaluated by a qualified medical professional.
✨ Peptides can be powerful, but they’re not supplements you take without medical oversight. Education, lab work, and clinical guidance are imperative.
📍This is for education only. I will not be answering medical guidance questions or questions regarding dosing.
