I can’t stop thinking about how my dog’s loyalty is endless, how every wag of her tail and soft whine at the door reminds me that she trusts me to come back, to keep her safe, and it breaks my heart to see anyone justify leaving a dog in a cold, lonely space when all they really want is to be near someone who loves them, because I know firsthand that the warmth of a familiar hand and the sound of a familiar voice are worth more than any temporary convenience, and I would never trade a single second of our time together for anything else in the world. 🐶

Karmen is a 6-year-old, 74 lb German Shepherd with a calm and thoughtful nature. She is a bit shy and is still learning confidence, so she would do best in a patient home where she can continue to build trust with people. Karmen would thrive with another dog to show her the ropes and help her feel more comfortable in her new environment.

She is calm but aware of her surroundings and walks well on leash, though she may need some gentle encouragement in new places. Karmen’s quiet and observant personality makes her a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her the time and love she needs to grow more confident.

A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure she’s a great fit for your family and any current pets.
