💙 What is GM1 Gangliosidosis?

GM1 is a rare, inherited condition where the body is missing an enzyme (beta-galactosidase-1) that breaks down certain sugars and fats.

The result: these substances build up in the brain and spinal cord, causing serious challenges.

Knowledge = power. If you’re supporting a child with a rare diagnosis, you’re not alone. Here at AFK, we support children and families with many rare disorders.

On December 13th we will be packing backpacks for children who have cancer. We are so thankful to be able to surprise these children with a little joy as it arrives in the mail just before Christmas. These backpacks are completely free, and we mail anywhere in the United States. Pearls of Hope Project for Kids is sponsored by The Pearl Church in Denver, Colorado, along with sponsors. We serve. children from babies to 18 year olds. All we need is for you to email us with the child’s full name, age, gender, diagnosis and mailing address to pearlsofhope@thepearl.
