Louisiana Swimming

Louisiana Swimming Louisiana Swimming is the governing body for competitive swimming in Louisiana.

Who we are:

Louisiana Swimming is part of a larger organization, USA Swimming, that governs amateur competitive swimming in the United States. USA Swimming sets rules for meets, establishes safety procedures, sets criteria for achievement levels, administers USA national teams such as the Olympic, Pan American and Pan Pacific teams, and promotes competitive swimming through research, education, and marketing. Louisiana Swimming is one of 59 geographically-defined Local Swim Committees (LSCs) which administer and promote USA Swimming programs at the local level. Louisiana Swimming has jurisdiction over USA Swimming programs in the State of Louisiana. The principal activities of the organization are developing swim meet schedules, setting standards for and sanctioning swim meets, implementing USA Swimming rules and safety procedures within the LSC, developing programs to promote, enhance, and market competitive swimming, and administering the registration of clubs and individuals. Louisiana Swimming encourages participation by all interested swimmers, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, age, gender, disability, or national origin is prohibited by Louisiana Swimming and USA Swimming rules. Louisiana Swimming is managed by a representative body, called the House of Delegates, composed of one volunteer from each swim club. The House of Delegates meets at least once a year, usually in the spring, to elect the Board of Directors and carry out other business that requires action of the full House of Delegates. Between meetings of the House of Delegates, the Board of Directors conducts all business of Louisiana Swimming. Regular meetings of the Board of Directors and the House of Delegates are open to any interested person, although only persons designated by the bylaws may vote. Club delegates, coaches and officials receive copies and / or notification of all minutes, schedules, and other information pertaining to the activities of the Board of Directors and the House of Delegates

“Each year, our Scholastic All-America honorees remind us of what excellence looks like both in and out of the pool,” USA Swimming Managing Director of Sport Development Joel Shinofield said. “These athletes continue to raise the bar, and their dedication shows the remarkable future of our sport. As we head towards the LA 2028 Games, it’s inspiring to see so many club swimmers who demonstrate the discipline, character, and balance required to excel in the classroom and pool.” 📚

These athletes maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) and swam an individual pool time equal to or faster than the 2024 Winter Junior National qualifying time in any individual event during the qualifying period of September 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025. Congratulations again to these athletes for excelling in the pool and in the classroom. We are so proud of your hard work. ⚜️

Yesterday was the final day of the 2025 Annual Summit in Denver! 🏔️

Athlete Rep Louis Roux (WAVE) started the day off with a morning swim practice. Afterwards, fellow Athlete Rep Zachary Frieden (COLA) joined him, and together they attended committee meetings followed by the Southern Zone meeting with Coach Eddie (YNWL) and Coach Ross (WAVE). Then, they grabbed a quick lunch before heading to the annual House of Delegates meeting! 📊

At HOD, the USA Swimming Delegates voted to, among other things, pass proposed legislation to amend the rule book. There were also a handful of border-related disputes between LSCs this year. 🗳️

Once HOD concluded, & toured Downtown Denver. They explored the 16th Street Mall and visited many businesses. They also stopped by the Denver Art Museum where ’s Golden Goggle Awards were being held! 🏙️

The night ended with athlete hangouts including watching football and playing cards. A great way to end a great trip.🏈

We hope you’ve enjoyed our documentation of this year’s Annual Summit. Please follow our page so we can continue to share updates for our entire LSC! ⚜️

Congratulations to Louisiana Swimming’s Athlete Reps for being awarded the Digital Engagement and Innovation Award! 🏆

At the LSC Athlete Awards portion of the 2025 Annual Summit in Denver, CO, USA Swimming honored Louisiana for its rapid growth and improved quality of our social media pages, our Linktree, and our “Contact an Athlete Rep” form. 📈

A milestone, this is our LSC’s FIRST TIME being awarded an LSC Athlete Award! We couldn’t be more proud of our Athlete Rep’s hard work and dedication; without athletes, we wouldn’t have a sport.🏅

We also want to thank YOU for engaging with our page and supporting us! We quite literally wouldn’t have won this award without your help. 🤝

As always, follow this page to stay in the loop! ⚜️
