But did you know that fragile X is the leading genetic cause of autism? Got your attention now…
I have worked with individuals with fragile X and their families for the past 2 years and have become inspired by their spirit and passionate about the cause. To help support the fragile X clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado we will be holding an event, Fragile Xpression, on June 21, 2015 which will be a recycled fashion show (local designers using recycled materials) and a small auction. All funds raised will go directly to support specialized care and support for fragile X families at Children’s Hospital Colorado. This includes funding fragile X research at Children’s, educational programs (residents/fellows/medical students/ genetic counseling students) to increase awareness of fragile X in the healthcare community, and educational materials to help patients and families cope with this genetic condition. Please join us in supporting the cause and raising awareness of fragile X… No more, “fragile what?”
