Pregnant mamas, this one is for you!! Ever wondered how to master when to go to the hospital when in labor?! Movies, tv shows, books, etc. may lead you to believe that it’s a good idea to go the second your water breaks or with the first intense contractions.

In reality, this can lead you to being in the hospital for a lot longer, possibly using more medical management than you would have hoped for, and maybe even not able to eat! Or you could be sent home and told the hospital is busy and it’s not quite time yet!

Birth prep is so essential in learning these items that can be scary as a first time mom, or an expecting mama in general!

Doing birth prep in a clinic is better than no prep at all, but in the end, you are not laboring or delivering at a clinic. The clinic is not designed to mimic a hospital and it definitely doesn’t look like your home!

That’s where Rooted comes in. Our birth prep is designed to use your home environment (tables, chairs, couches, sinks) to give you meaningful prep where you will actually do it! We don’t train for a marathon in the mountains on flat ground/ no altitude in Florida, and your birth prep should be the same. Tailored to your body, your environment, your partner, your desires and needs! This is how we get effective results❤️

If you are interested in learning more comment “birth prep” below or DM us and I’ll send you a free perineal massage guide! Link to a free consult call in our bio as well!🥰

Hey mama! We have seen hundreds of local moms, and they are always so grateful for our in home model. However, before trying our in home services out it’s easy to think getting care elsewhere provides the same services. While clinics have certain perks like high level weights and a community feel, there is something unique about pregnancy and postpartum that makes in home care part of the Rooted Method. Let’s break it down:

✨Doing in home sessions allows us to get your partner involved in the birth prep process for at least 2 sessions to learn how to be effectively supportive during labor and delivery. If they work from home we can even pull them in for five minutes to show them something that randomly comes up vs needing to dedicate half a day to an appointment in a clinic!

✨We are able to give you exercises and stretches based on the equipment you have at home. You will quickly realize that you don’t need a huge and overwhelming gym set up if you have a banister, chair and a diaper bag for weights🤣

✨We love doing in home birth prep because if you think about it, you are not laboring at a clinic, office space, or even the hospital for a good chunk of early labor. This, we are able to provide you with real and effective laboring tips utilizing the space you are actually going to be in. Mental imagery and practice MATTERS!!

✨As can be seen in this delicious photo, seeing mamas at home means bonding with baby. We foster connection, love and teaching your kiddos self care by taking care of yourself through our services. We always allow kiddos to be present in sessions, and encourage feeding, holding, and playing when necessary. There is always so much we can still do to support you no matter what your baby/ kids need during our hour together!❤️🥲

Dr. Jenny gathered her top holiday picks for gifts and self care items when experiencing a ~prolapse~💞

The compression undergarments are amazing at avoiding excessive abdominal pressure created with the use of belly bands and other top down approaches. These underwear are hugging in all the right spots while still supporting prolapse recovery.

The vaginal serum is so helpful when combating the cold and dry weather. Many times we think about our dry hands and chapped lips, but the other sets also need some love this time of year (and always!)

The lacrosse balls are awesome tools to get deeper into the glutes that are usually tight in prolapse patients. We tend to see patients with prolapse squeezing the glutes tightly to find a support which creates tension in the posterior chain and pelvic floor!

Lastly, the Pilates ball is an awesome tool and works well for biofeedback of good breathing, pelvic floor contraction and lengthening and can be used for exercises too!

We hope you love these as much as we do. Thanks, Dr. Jenny👏🏼😍

Our Holiday Gudes are coming out this week!!

Starting with a guide on our top picks for constipation support🥳

Constipation can be such a struggle, and the holidays never help. Between less hydration, different food habits, travel and being more sedentary, it’s no secret that the holidays are TOUGH for our constipated girls out there. This guide includes a squatty potty, magnesium citrate, a castor oil wrap for sleep (put on left side for digestion, right for liver) and a Stanley because staying hydrated is key!! You can find this gift guide at the link in our bio!❤️🎄💙🕎

It’s basically take mama to work day when we go to barre together. My mom was just diagnosed with Hashimotos and being able to find energy to workout can be so difficult. I love barre due to the small pulsing movements that don’t feel like an insane amount of energy expenditure but give great stability results! Mama loved it too… except for the floor work, the barre work and the cardio warm up. The stretching feels nice though. Only jokes. She is so strong and working so hard to put her best foot forward with all that she does for her health. Truly an inspiration! Just some light hearted holiday fun and laughter. So nice to spend our time together😅❤️

⭐️ Postpartum Recovery⭐️

It’s a common misconception that patients must wait until their 6 weeks clearance OB visit to begin pelvic floor therapy. There are so many reasons why starting earlier can be beneficial.

✨Learning better posture for feeding, lifting baby items, holding baby and navigating your home early and often is so useful to avoid compensations

✨Assessing your breathing, rib cage positioning and abdominal wall integrity is so great early postpartum to get a full picture of the work that you’d benefit from

✨Gentle soft tissue work, massage and bone realignment techniques can help a healing pelvis early postpartum

✨Gentle movement when tolerated is also important. Six weeks can feel like a long time for patients who have been through postpartum before and/ or are very active, so getting back to mobility and exercise safely and with expert help is great

✨we usually see patients 3-4 weeks out to give you a little time to adjust, get used to nap and feed schedules and feel up for having company

Our in home model makes early postpartum visits not only convenient but also peaceful knowing your sweet baby can be close, you don’t need to drive while tired and you can have exercise that are easy to perform daily from the comfort of your space. We are here for you
