🚑💻 Telehealth vs. In-Person Care — What I’ve Learned as a Primary Care NP
When I first started practicing telehealth, I honestly didn’t expect it to be as effective as it is. But I quickly realized something: most of the time, the “diagnosis” is in the story. It’s the conversation, the right follow-up questions, and knowing what matters.
In many cases, the physical exam simply confirms what we already suspected from the history.
With telehealth, I can still provide full primary care including:
✅ wellness visits
✅ sick visits
✅ medication refills/management (blood pressure, cholesterol, prediabetes, and more)
✅ lab orders, imaging, and referrals
That said, telehealth isn’t perfect — and there are times in-person care is absolutely best (think complex cardiac/lung history, procedures, or swabs like strep testing).
Here's a blog breaking down what telehealth can (and can’t) do, and who it’s best for.

Healthcare does not always fit neatly into a 9–5 schedule or into a waiting room chair. Life happens. Symptoms pop up at inconvenient times. Kids get sick, workdays run long, and sometimes the idea of driving across Denver, finding parking, and sitting in a crowded office just feels overwhelming.
