For people living with Parkinson’s disease, exercise may be one of the most powerful tools to fight some symptoms and potentially slow disease progression. That’s why APDA offers a wide variety of virtual and in-person fitness classes so that anyone, anywhere, can attend. 💪🧘💃 We’ve got some great classes happening right here in Iowa– see what’s coming up and join us!

Community programs like these are made possible thanks to the generous support of APDA’s donors.

Thank you! 💙💚

November's MAPS meeting was blessed with guest speaker Anne O’Rear, Dementia Care Specialist with Broadlawns Memory Center. Anne shared valuable insights and compassionate guidance that truly resonated with everyone in the room. Afterward, we split into our care partner and people with Parkinson’s groups for meaningful conversations, connection, and support.

We’re so grateful for this community and the space we share each month. MAPS meets every third Saturday of the month - NO meeting in December.

On November 12th, Stephanie had the BEST time in Ackley, IA celebrating their local PD support group. As a group, they raised the most for the 2025 Optimism Walk, so of course we had to honor them with an ice cream party. Their energy, dedication, and community spirit are truly inspiring. Proud to celebrate such an amazing group.
