Detroit Yoga Lab

Detroit Yoga Lab Detroit Yoga Lab was the first yoga studio to open in Detroit in 2012. We hope you'll come see for yourself. The room pulses and breathes.

Detroit Yoga Lab is a modern, minimalist sanctuary offering intentional yoga & pilates rooted in breath, meditation, and whole-body awareness—enhanced by the healing power of infrared heat. Since opening, we’ve been told in many different ways that Detroit Yoga Lab is the most welcoming, best designed and supercharged yoga studio in Detroit, and that there’s just no other place like it. Our students have also claimed that their experiences in being part of this amazing community have changed their lives, bodies and hearts for the better. We are so humbled by the inclusiveness, connectivity and determination that has sprouted in this space over the past three years and hope you will come join us. We offer more than 30 classes a week, from heated vinyasa to candle light yin, and everything in between. The air is sort of electric. And most importantly, there is a real feeling of community that pervades this studio and makes students want to return, because we see the beauty in everyone! Our teachers are friendly, accessible for questions and are consistently participating in ongoing education and training so they can in turn provide the most knowledgeable classes about how to move safe, build strength, increase flexibility and release stress through yoga. To us, yoga is a practice that helps us all be our best, not a practice to make us all look the same, so we hope you’ll come share you so we can help you be YOUR BEST!

Slow Flow: Live Music + Sound is more than a yoga class — it’s a full sensory reset. ✨

Move slowly. Breathe deeply. Soften into each pose. Then settle into live singing + guitar as the room quiets and your nervous system downshifts.

Not a playlist — a real, human voice creating real calm.

If your week feels loud, this is your invitation to slow down.
Slow Flow: Live Music & Sound, every Wednesday at 7pm.

Nervous system first—always.

This pillar of ours guides how we pace, cue, heat and hold space. It’s about us supporting regulation, offering choice and building sustainable capacity.

Breath before intensity.
Safety before stretch.
Regulation over depletion.

This is how we serve you at Detroit Yoga Lab 🧡

RESET: Cultivating Clarity and Renewal 🌱
Half-day meditation retreat with Olivia Franklin and Andrew Beer | Saturday, March 21 | 12 - 4pm

We’re so happy to welcome back Wild Heart facilitators Andrew Beer + Olivia Franklin as they return to Detroit Yoga Lab on March 21st to guide RESET: Cultivating Clarity and Renewal—a half-day meditation retreat offering space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect as we move toward spring.

Reset is an invitation to pause.
This half-day meditation retreat offers a calm, supportive container to slow down, disconnect from constant input, and reconnect with steady presence as we move toward spring.

The afternoon includes:
• Noble silence held in a supportive, community-centered container
• Alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation
• Clear, guided instruction and short talks rooted in early Buddhist teachings

A brief break will be offered midway through the retreat. Participants are asked to remain off their phones to support the shared container, and modifications will be available to support all bodies.

Led by Olivia Franklin and Andrew Beer (M.A., LLC),
Certified meditation facilitators through Wild Heart Meditation Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

✨ Awareness begins with noticing ✨
The kleshas offer a lens for understanding our patterns that often lead to or create suffering. Through practice, these afflictions become tools that help us recognize habits, cultivate clarity and respond with greater intention.

❄️ Winter is your cue to slow down ❄️

This Hatha series is your space to pause, breathe, and really listen to your body. With no fast flow to keep up with, you’ll settle into each posture, use props generously, and move in a way that supports you—not the other way around.

Join next Saturday, February 7th, for our first Hatha class and give yourself time to cultivate steadiness, ease, and quiet attention—exactly where you are.

✨ All levels welcome ✨

Yoga understands us as layered beings.
The koshas: five interconnected sheaths of being, invite exploration beyond the physical body and into a more complete experience of the self. While asana addresses the physical layer, practice ultimately cultivates awareness of all five koshas through which our truest nature is experienced.
