https://blogs.worldbank.org/fr/arabvoices The World Bank is one of the world's largest sources of development assistance. Our mission is to fight poverty with passion and professionalism for lasting results. We are not a bank in the common sense; we aim to help people help themselves and their environment by sharing knowledge and providing financial and technical assistance. Conceived in 1944 to reconstruct war-torn Europe, we work in more than 100 developing countries.

Every year, 1.3 million young Egyptians enter the labor market, but only about half a million jobs are created.

With the right reforms and strong private sector participation, 🇪🇬 could generate up to 2.3 million jobs annually between 2026 and 2050—while empowering women and youth to play a greater role in the economy.

From small businesses in Upper Egypt to startups in Cairo, entrepreneurs are proving that with the right support, jobs change lives and communities.

Happy ! 🎣

Before conflict erupted in 2014, 🇾🇪 was a major regional player in fisheries, driven largely by artisanal fishers. Fisheries were the country’s second-largest export sector, contributing 3% percent of GDP and providing jobs and livelihoods to 1.7 million people.

Learn how the World Bank and partners such as the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP and the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service (SMEPS), are helping Yemeni communities regain stability and build long-term resilience.

Despite years of conflict and climate pressures, Yemen’s fisheries remain a source of food, identity, and dignity.
