I’ll be at the Backroads Barn Sale from 9–2 in the Tractor Building and this is one you do NOT want to miss.

There are 70+ vendors spread out across buildings and outside — so many good finds, really good food, a petting zoo, and just a fun atmosphere all around.

I’m bringing my full spring collection PLUS my entire tallow line, including my very popular signature products 🌿☀️

As always, everything is rendered by me and I never use artificial fragrance.

Tallow skincare is definitely having a moment right now—and I understand why. Simple, nourishing ingredients are finally getting the attention they deserve.

But not all tallow is the same.

Yes, I render my own tallow from locally sourced, pasture-raised suet—but it goes beyond that. I never use artificial fragrance. Every product is either infused by me or made with high-quality essential oils. I spend a lot of time researching ingredients and how they actually support your skin—maybe it’s the teacher in me, or the mom—but I care deeply about what goes into every single product.

I’m also incredibly intentional about keeping things simple. I use the highest quality ingredients I can find and leave out anything unnecessary.

Because to me, less really is more. Simple. Intentional. Done right.

Happy Easter weekend, friends 🌿🐣

There’s something about this season that slows me down in the best way… watching my kids wander the pasture, the animals enjoying the fresh grass, everything coming back to life again.

It’s a gentle reminder of God’s goodness, His grace, and the beauty of new beginnings. The same hands that created all of this—this land, these animals, our families—are still at work, bringing renewal in ways we don’t always see right away.

I’m so grateful for this life, for this little farm, and for all of you who support what I do here at Chickens & Scratch. It truly means more than I can put into words.

I hope your Easter weekend is filled with peace, fresh air, and time with the ones you love most.

One thing about me and my products — I am very intentional about what I choose to offer.

I don’t create products just to fill space or keep up with trends. Everything in my tallow collection has a purpose… and my whipped tallow moisturizers are the best example of that.

I only offer three — and that’s on purpose. Each one is thoughtfully formulated (not just scented differently) to support a specific skin type:

✨ Whipped Frankincense
This one is for dry or aging skin. It’s deeply nourishing and supports the appearance of smoother, more elastic skin. It’s also the only whipped moisturizer I make with castor oil — and I did that intentionally. Castor oil is rich, deeply penetrating, and helps lock in moisture while giving that extra level of hydration that dry or mature skin truly needs. Paired with frankincense, known for its rejuvenating properties, this formula is all about restoration and long-lasting nourishment.

✨ Whipped Lavender
Perfect for combination, oily, or acne-prone skin. Lavender is a natural astringent, so it helps balance oil and support acne-prone skin without being harsh. It also helps calm inflammation and reduce redness while supporting the skin as it heals. I purposely kept this formula lighter (without castor oil) so it won’t feel heavy or clog pores — just balanced, soothing moisture.

✨ Simply Whipped
My unscented option for sensitive skin. No essential oils, no extras — just pure, gentle nourishment. It’s perfect for those who react easily or want the most simple, clean moisturizer possible (also amazing for babies and delicate skin).

I’d rather offer a small, intentional collection that truly serves you than overwhelm you with too many options. There is a reason behind everything I do 🤍

Took the kids to swimming lessons this morning, and now I’m home getting right back to it.

Working on restocking my whipped tallow today—specifically Frankincense since I’m currently sold out (still can’t believe that). Made from tallow I rendered myself, as always.

It’ll be back in stock tomorrow, March 29. If you’ve been waiting on it, it’s coming.
