1.

We share our experiences, strengths, and hopes while recovering from our active addiction to mind and mood altering substances. We admitted that we were neglectful of our higher selves and that our lives have become unmanageable.

2. We came to believe that Allah could and would restore us to sanity.

3. We made a decision to submit our will to the will of Allah.

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves

5. We admitted to Allah and to ourselves the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Asking Allah for right guidance, we became willing and open for change, ready to have Allah remove our defects of character.

7. We humbly ask Allah to remove our shortcomings.

8. We made a list of persons we have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. We sought through Salaat* and Iqraa* to improve our understanding of Taqwa* and Ihsan.*

12. Having increased our level of Iman (faith) and Taqwa, as a result of applying these steps, we carried this message to humanity and began practicing these principles in all our affairs.

Surrender Sunday

Surrendering to Allah isn’t about giving up —
it’s about opening up.

It’s the quiet courage to release the habits, thoughts, and patterns that no longer serve our spirit.
It’s choosing trust over fear, alignment over ego, and peace over struggle.

True surrender means allowing Allah to reshape our hearts, our thinking, and our path…
so we can walk with clarity, humility, and purpose.

May this Surrender Sunday bring softness to your mind, lightness to your heart, and a renewed willingness to let Allah guide every step. Aameen

What It Means to “Have Allah”

To have Allah means:
• Your heart feels His presence
• You trust Him in hardship
• You turn to Him when no one sees you
• You pray because you love Him
• You ask Him for help before you ask people
• You feel protected, guided, watched over
• You feel close to Him even when alone

This is what gives a person:
• Peace
• Purpose
• Strength
• Direction
• Real transformation

This is what addiction recovery, healing, and spiritual growth depend on — a heart connected to Allah, not just an identity connected to Islam

Islamic Quote of the Day

“Whoever trusts in Allah, He is sufficient for them.”
— Qur’an 65:3

Reflection:

This ayah reminds us that no matter how heavy life feels, Allah is already making a way forward for you. What is beyond your control is never beyond His. When you surrender the burden, He carries what you cannot.
