Are you getting enough water??
It’s summer and it's HOT YA'LL!!!
That means more coffee, more alcohol and more sugar, but that also means less water! We often get busy drinking other things while enjoying summertime that we end up skimps on our water intake, but I am reminding you that it’s imperative to make WATER a priority this summer. Use these tips to make sure you are staying adequately hydrated all season long:
👉 DRINK WATER and PLENTY OF IT -- Start your day with a cup before you drink or eat anything else. Thrown in some lemon, lime, mint, or berries to flavor it up!
👉 CHECK YOUR URINE -- Pale urine is a sign of good hydration. This is an excellent marker of making sure you are doing a good job.
👉 AVOID ALCOHOL, SUGARY DRINKS, and CAFFEINE -- These types of beverages actually work against you and remove water from your system
👉 COOL DOWN -- Proper hydration isn’t just about drinking water, it’s about regulating your body temperature, too. Be sure you keep yourself cool with proper clothes and hats to keep yourself from getting overheated outside.
👉 EAT FOODS WITH HIGHER WATER CONTENT -- cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, radishes, peppers, cauliflower, watermelon, spinach, strawberries, broccoli, and grapefruit all contain 90 percent water or higher.
👉 REPLENISH WHEN YOU SWEAT -- It is recommended you: drink 17-20 oz. Two to three hours before you exercise. Drink 8 oz. 20-30 minutes before you exercise. Drink 7-10 oz. Every 10-20 minutes during exercise. Drink 8 oz. no more than 30 minutes after exercise.
