đź’« Your Support Matters More Than Ever đź’«

Friends, rural health care is facing unprecedented challenges—and now more than ever, our community matters.

At Teton Valley Health Care, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide exceptional care close to home. Even as rural hospitals across the nation face mounting pressures, our commitment to this valley has not wavered. But we cannot do this alone. Your support is vital to keeping health care strong and accessible for the families who call Teton Valley home. ❤️

🚨 The Reality We Face

• 759 rural hospitals nationwide are at risk of closure.
• In Idaho, 9 hospitals—nearly one-third of rural facilities—are in jeopardy (Becker’s Hospital Review, June 2025).
• Federal policy changes are reducing Medicaid coverage and reimbursement, impacting both patients and hospitals.
• By 2034, an estimated 1.8 million rural residents could lose Medicaid coverage—including 40,000 Idahoans.
• An additional 35,000 Idahoans may lose insurance altogether, while rural hospitals face a $50.4 billion reduction in federal Medicaid funding over the next decade.

Here in Teton Valley, the impact is especially significant:
👉 52% of our patients rely on Medicare or Medicaid, yet reimbursements fall far short of the true cost of care.
• Medicare covers only 64% of allowable costs—dropping to 53% with Medicare Advantage.
• Medicaid covers just 50%, and only 8% for out-of-state patients.

🏥 The Strain on Rural Hospitals

• 92 rural hospitals have closed in the past decade, with closures accelerating (AHA analysis, Sheps Center).
• More than half of rural hospitals operate at a financial loss.
• Recent cuts have reduced Medicaid reimbursements by an additional 4%, deepening the crisis.

While initiatives like the proposed Rural Health Transformation Fund offer hope, the timing and distribution of resources remain uncertain.

🤝 How You Can Help

A gift to the Teton Valley Health Care Foundation makes an immediate and meaningful difference. Your generosity helps us:
• Replace outdated equipment and technology
• Invest in new tools to meet the growing needs of our community
• Sustain the quality, compassionate care every patient deserves

Together, we can ensure Teton Valley Health Care remains a place of healing, hope, and strength—now and for generations to come. 🌄

đź’™ We are deeply grateful for your support and commitment.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays from all of us at Teton Valley Health Care. 🎄✨

In small towns like Teton Valley, hospitals do so much more than provide care. They keep families close to home, support local jobs, and ensure that no one has to travel hours in an emergency. But today, many rural hospitals across Idaho are facing real challenges — from staffing shortages to reduced reimbursements — that make it harder to keep essential services available.

Our latest blog, written and shared by the Idaho Hospital Association, shares why protecting rural health care is so critical and how strong hospitals help preserve the Idaho way of life we all love.

🎄 Thank You, Teton Valley! 🎄

Our 2025 Festival of Trees was another beautiful reminder of what makes this community so special.

To our Auxiliary, led by Auxiliary Director, Marcia Saunders; this amazing group of individuals poured their hearts into this event! Their support continues to lift up local healthcare in meaningful ways. Because of the Auxiliary's efforts and through the generosity of this community, we will be able to purchase the Orthopedic Equipment we need in order to care for more patients right here at home! 🌟

To our generous Tree Donors, your creativity, talent, and holiday spirit brought the room to life. Each tree told a story—and together, they created a magical experience for every guest who walked through the doors.

To our Title Sponsors, your partnership makes this event possible. Thank you for standing with us in our mission and helping us bring vital support to Teton Valley Health Care.
