We had the opportunity to tour the Idea Lab at the North Central LaunchBox/Penn State DuBois on Friday, and it was nothing short of inspiring.

The Idea Lab is an incredible resource for our region bringing ideas to life through hands-on innovation, advanced manufacturing tools, and real business support. From 3D printing and prototyping to design, training, and entrepreneurial guidance, it’s clear this space was built with purpose: to empower students, entrepreneurs, and organizations to think bigger and move faster.

What stood out most was how accessible and practical this resource is. The Idea Lab isn’t just about technology, it’s about removing barriers, fostering creativity, and giving people the tools and confidence to turn ideas into action. That kind of support is invaluable for nonprofits, small businesses, and anyone working to make a positive impact in our community.

We are extremely grateful to be welcomed in, to learn more about what’s available, and to see firsthand how the North Central PA LaunchBox ecosystem is strengthening innovation right here in DuBois and across the region.

Thank you to the team at North Central Launchbox for your time, your passion, and your commitment to building a stronger future for North Central Pennsylvania. Resources like this truly matter and we’re thankful to have them in our backyard.

Thank you for all your kind efforts to support her and for her overall wellness 🤍

- After following up on the events that unfolded today near Day Spa Tan and after reading the disgusting and hurtful comments circulating online, we felt it was important to speak up.

A very unfortunate incident occurred involving a woman who was clearly experiencing a mental health crisis. When we first spoke with her, we understood she was in a difficult place. The owner even offered to put her in a hotel for a few days so she could rest and clean up. Unfortunately, she became increasingly distressed, and as her behavior escalated near the street with her pants falling down, we became deeply concerned for her safety.

At that point, the situation was out of our control and authorities became involved in order to ensure her well-being.

We truly hope this woman gets the help and support she needs moving forward.

What has been most heartbreaking is the smear campaign happening in the comment section. The cruelty and judgment being thrown around are horrific. Mental illness is not entertainment, and it is not something to mock. It’s something that could touch any family at any time.

Maybe, just maybe, those choosing to leave such awful comments can take a step back and reflect. Our community is better than this. We work hard every day to support the place we love, and we will continue to stand for compassion, dignity, and understanding.
