December often brings a mix of celebration and strain. Shorter days, colder weather, financial pressures, and packed holiday schedules can take a real toll on mental health. For some, reduced sunlight contributes to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), while for others, holiday expectations and emotional obligations increase stress, fatigue, and feelings of overwhelm.

In this blog, Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG) highlights:
• How seasonal changes and holiday pressures affect mental well-being
• Signs of seasonal depression and elevated stress
• The importance of maintaining routines and healthy boundaries
• Ways connection and community reduce isolation
• When and how to seek professional support—including telehealth and crisis services

This piece is a gentle reminder that support is available, even during the busiest time of year—and that prioritizing mental health is an act of strength.

• Why holiday stress affects so many people
• What national data really says about mental health and su***de during winter months
• Common seasonal stressors that increase emotional vulnerability
• Practical strategies to reduce overwhelm and protect well-being
• The importance of self-compassion and seeking support

This piece serves as a reminder that there is no “right” way to feel during the holidays—and that prioritizing mental health is just as important as any tradition.

The ModivCare 6-Month Vehicle Inspection was completed on November 25, 2025, with outstanding results that reflect the dedication and teamwork of our staff. Field Inspector Cory Jarrell inspected 32 vehicles using a comprehensive 33-item compliance checklist, and the inspection concluded with zero out-of-compliance findings. Inspections were conducted at the SOAR/DEN Clubhouse and Emanuel Day Service. Congratulations are extended to the Child & Adolescence programs, SOAR/DEN Clubhouse, Eastman Intellectual/Developmental Disability program, Dublin Intellectual/Developmental Disability program, Dublin/Emanuel APEX, and Emanuel Day Service teams for another successful inspection.

Special thanks are extended to Tanva Plummer and Isaiah Morman for their exceptional assistance throughout the inspection process. Their cooperation, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond played an important role in ensuring a smooth and successful outcome. This achievement marks our 16th consecutive inspection with zero out-of-compliance survey points, a milestone that speaks to our continued commitment to safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

As we move forward, Alvin Moorman encourages all staff to continue performing daily vehicle checks and promptly report any deficiencies to the fleet team to maintain our high standards. The next scheduled ModivCare vehicle inspection will take place on May 14, 2026. Thank you to everyone involved for your continued dedication to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and transport ready. A most special “thank you” to Alvin Moorman for taking care of our fleet operations and providing a high standard to strive for in this critical area of safety and compliance. Alvin, we will miss you, but wish you the very best in your upcoming retirement! And we will remember that you said it best … “It’s going to be all right."
