🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month! 🧡
ADHD is more than just “difficulty focusing.”
Did you know that ADHD and Autism are both neurodevelopmental disorders? This means that brain development is affected in ways that can impact movement, language, memory, focus, impulse control, and social skills.
These two conditions often overlap — an individual can have both ADHD and Autism, or show traits of each. This is sometimes called AuDHD.
While ADHD and Autism share traits like challenges with attention, focus, and social communication; they can also show opposite patterns:
🔹 Autism: prefers routines and consistency, may be sensitive to sensory input.
🔸 ADHD: seeks novelty and stimulation, may get bored easily.
💫 AuDHD can feel like:
😵 Feeling overwhelmed but unable to slow down
🔁 Loving routines but getting bored with them
💬 Craving social time but struggling in social situations
While ADHD often brings high energy and creativity, it can also make focus and organization challenging. Every ADHD brain is unique and with understanding and support, individuals with ADHD can thrive in amazing ways!
🧡 Every brain is unique.
🧡 Awareness helps us understand, accept, and celebrate neurodiversity!
