My journey to healthy

My journey to healthy I am just an average girl trying to improve my health. I have had a roller coaster journey and am ready to finally hit and maintain my goals. I was wrong.

I started this journey at 220.4 pounds 7-1-11. I am not sure where I am in my fitness journey.. I started trying to get healthier 3 years ago.. I was successful and lost 75 pounds in 15 months. I worked out 4-6 days a week and did some weight training. I hit my lowest weight and then thought I could stop letting it control my life and could ease up and not micromanage it. I gained 27 pounds over the next 6 months but I was still working out. I even finished the half marathon last year. Then I having some health problems and stopped working out. I know now that I had developed anxiety and since raising my heart rate made me feel like I was having an anxiety attack I stopped working out. I gained a total of 60 pounds back.. I have dealt with the anxiety and I want to get to back to where and who I was before. I am glad this page was started as more motivation for me. I don't follow a special eating plan. I am trying to eat leas carbs and sodium. More protein, veggies and fruit. I look forward getting healthier and learning new things. I personally do not endorse any weight loss products or diets. To me it is not a diet It is a whole life change and you need to be ready to make that lifelong commitment. The work is not done just because the weight loss is. I have been trying new recipes as I have been bored with the same old ones I have had time and time again. I also have been trying to prep snacks as that is the meal I tend to mindlessly eat the most. Today I made a california roll cottage cheese bowl and it didn't disappoint. Here is how I made it:
1/2 cottage cheese
1 serving imitation crab
1 mini cucumber
1/4 of an avacado
a splash of liquid aminos (taste like soy sauce)
and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning.

Hello- It's me.. Again. I haven't hit my goals. I am not probably pretty close to my unhealthiest. My blood sugars are high, my blood pressure is borderline and I feel out of control with my eating. I am back Metforming after gping off it. I had a kidney stone June 2023 and thought it may have caused it so I stopped taking it. We will see if I have another kidney kidney stone. I am meeting not only with a diabetes educator but also with a therapist from a treatment program for Eating Disorders/disordered eating. I used to think even when I overate I was still in control bc I chose to sit down with that box of crackers or to keep eating once I was full. But now I don't. I mid less eat and before I know it, I have eaten more then I was hungry for. I need help and am taking the steps to get it. Which is scary and exciting. I am mourning the person who isn't in control which seems weird to me but it is who I have been for so long I don't remember the girl who lose 75 pounds in 15 months who was dedicated to eating smaller portions and exercising 5-6 days ago week. Though even then I don't think I did it the right way. I was eating 1200 calories a day which was way to low but that is what I was taught.. There is so much "diet" advice out there it is crazy.. And sad. We want that quick fix and to see results fast. But we need to remember we didn't gain the weight overnight or even in a week or a few months. It took time to go on and it will take time to come off. Here is to working to.aheive my tools and getting uncomfortable to be comfortable in my own skin.

OMG!! Made a bomb pasta salad. I got the southwest chopped salad from Sam's Club. Added 224 grams (4servings) of pasta, 1 pound of ground turkey with taco seasoning, ranch seasoning, onion powder,.and cumin. Mixed all together (minus the cheese included I will add my own). And oh my gosh! Soo good. Would be even better with black beans but I have to watch my carbs.

I was skeptical of this recipe I found on Pinterest but we finally tried it and OMG it is amazing! I used 2 packs of noodles (the low sodium ones), 1 pound of ground beef, 3 pieces of kraft cheese, about 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, a little more then half cup of heavy cream, and only 1 packet of the beef seasoning. Other then the fact that it was sticky it was soo good! The romen noodles were creamier then reguar noodles. Oh, and we didn't add any bacon either.

Greek yogurt bagels made for th3 next week. I male these atleast once a month and eat them with cream cheese, make them into an egg sandwitch, or just a regular sandwich. I will eat pretty much th3 same breakfast and lunches for a week. For me of I can just grab something and not spend a.lot of time prepping/making it everyday I am much more likely not to reach for something that isn't as nutrious.

Make yourself meals that you look forward to. This week I am going with pasta and zoodle salads. Today's was my take in the Italian grinder sandwitches. Pasta, zoodles, chicken, tomato, cucumber, parmesan cheese, mayo, banana peppers, and Greek vinaigrette. So good! Very light and refreshing.
