What do autism, dyslexia, PTSD, epilepsy, and Type 1 diabetes all have in common?
They’re all considered invisible disabilities — chronic conditions that aren’t easy to identify just by looking at someone.
Think about it: You probably know someone in your personal life who has one of these conditions. But do you consider them when you see a stranger on the street?
That’s why we should treat everyone we run into with understanding! You never know what they may be going through.

Did you know? 100% of youth with Down Syndrome deserve a stable, loving home.
Have you considered fostering a child with special needs?
ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a condition that affects focus, and energy, which may affect the ability to struggle with attention or staying still. With understanding, and patience, youth with ADHD can thrive at home, school and everyday life as they bring unique strengths like creativity and curiosity!
We also know foster parents need support, too. That’s why StepStone provides training, resources, and 24/7 guidance to help foster families understand ADHD and respond with patience, consistency, and compassion. From individualized care plans to ongoing coaching, we walk alongside families so they never feel alone on the journey. Because when foster parents are empowered, youth are empowered—and together, we can create environments where children with ADHD grow, succeed, and shine. 🌟
