What if one trail shoe could do it all?

We put the La Sportiva Prodigio Pro to the test with three runners logging 50–80+ miles across long runs, technical terrain, and mixed conditions.

It kept showing up as the go-to option thanks to its secure fit, balanced ride, and all-around versatility—but it’s not without tradeoffs…especially at $225.

So the question is 👇
Would you pay $225 for a trail shoe that could do it all?

Scott put 80+ miles into this max-cushion trainer to find out, testing it across roads, light trails, and everything in between. The verdict? A comfortable, durable ride with surprising versatility… from a brand many U.S. runners haven’t even heard of (yet).

Curious if it belongs in your rotation?

This week’s WeeViewer Wednesday spotlight features Meg, a runner whose journey started with recovery and turned into something much bigger. 👇️

After dealing with a back injury during the pandemic, Meg discovered that running helped her feel stronger and more capable again. Since then, she’s embraced the process, found joy in being outdoors, and built a meaningful relationship with the sport. 🏃‍♀️

A standout moment in her journey? Completing the Chicago Marathon in 2025 after once saying she’d never run one.

Now, she’s chasing a new goal: running a half marathon in under two hours.

Outside of running, she works to combat invasive insect species by raising and releasing parasitic wasps 🐝, which might be one of the most unique “day jobs” we’ve heard yet.

Give Meg a follow on Instagram and cheer her on!

Will the record fall? 👀

Josh Kerr is taking aim at one of the toughest records in track and field…

The men’s mile world record:
3:43.13, set by Hicham El Guerrouj in 1999.

Kerr’s target?
222 seconds.

He’s building his season around one moment:
📍 July 18 in London

The plan includes:
• Negative splitting the mile
• Custom spikes and race kit
• Hand-picked pacers

He’s not just chasing it… he’s putting it out there.

So what do you think?

Does the record finally fall… or is 3:43 still untouchable? 👇

Max cushion on the trails sounds great in theory…but how does it actually hold up when the miles start stacking?

We had multiple testers take the Kiprun Kipsummit Max out across a mix of terrain to see where it shines, and where it falls short. From its plush, protective ride to some noticeable limitations on technical trails, this is a shoe that clearly knows its lane.

If you’re training for long trail miles or ultras, this one might be worth a look. If you need precision and grip on more technical terrain, you’ll want to read this first.

Some performances just make you stop and appreciate how wide-open this sport can be.

Seventeen-year-old Cooper Lutkenhaus won gold in the 800m at the World Indoor Championships, running 1:44.24 against a field of experienced professionals.

He didn’t just win. He became the youngest individual gold medalist in meet history, capping off an undefeated indoor season in the process.

The race itself was a great example of patience and confidence: sitting in position early, making a decisive move late, and trusting it all the way to the line.

It’s easy to think progress comes slowly in this sport, but moments like this show how quickly things can click when preparation meets opportunity.

Have you had a race where everything just came together?

Minimal gear, maximum function.

The Salomon Pulse Belt has quietly become one of the most-reviewed (and highest-rated) belts on WeeViews, earning a 4.9⭐ from real runners who’ve put it through everything from daily miles to race day.

What stands out?
A lightweight, bounce-free fit that actually stays put… plus enough storage for your phone, fuel, and even a 500 mL flask without feeling bulky.

It’s the kind of gear you forget you’re wearing…which is kind of the whole point.

Abby put it to the test across roads, trails, and workouts to see if it lives up to the hype.

WeeViewer Wednesday: Meet Kimberly

Kimberly from Anaheim, California discovered running during one of the hardest seasons of her life while grieving the loss of her father. Joining run clubs helped her stay active and connected, and when friends encouraged her to sign up for a marathon in Big Bear she decided to take the leap. That weekend she went from couch to marathon and found a powerful source of healing at the finish line.

From there, running became a huge part of her life. Kimberly went on to complete 12 marathons in 12 months for two consecutive years and now regularly races ultramarathons.

One of her most memorable races was the Avalon 50K, which was only her second race ever. She had shown up to support friends but ended up taking another runner’s bib at the last minute. Without proper running gear, she ran the entire race carrying a single one liter bottle of water and soaking in the scenery and race energy.

Kimberly’s next challenge is a four day stage race this May, where she hopes to earn her first 200 mile buckle.

Outside of running, Kimberly works in Human Resources and will graduate with her PhD in May. She even spent miles of the Javelina race in 2024 thinking through the conceptual framework for her dissertation while running through the desert heat.

Kimberly’s story is proof that running can transform grief into resilience and that sometimes the hardest step is simply signing up.

Looking for a stability shoe that keeps things simple and reliable?

One WeeViews tester recently put the Topo Athletic Ultrafly 6 through recovery miles and daily training to see how it performs in real-world conditions.

This moderate stability trainer features Topo’s signature roomy toe box, dependable traction, and light guidance through the gait cycle, making it a strong option for runners who want support without an overly rigid ride. It’s also comfortable enough to double as a walking shoe.

But how does the ZipFoam midsole actually feel on the run? And is it a good option if you typically run in neutral shoes?

WeeViewer Wednesday: Meet Robyn Bayetis

Robyn Bayetis from Forest Hills, NY started running just one year ago at age 48, something she had always wanted to try. What started as a new challenge quickly turned into a powerful personal journey of proving to herself what she’s capable of.

After seven months of training using the Galloway method, Robyn completed her first half marathon last October! It's a milestone that still makes her smile when she reflects on the work and perseverance it took to get there.

Her running journey continues to grow. Robyn completed her first 10K and has another 10K on the calendar this March, followed by her first 15K in April. Later this year she’s planning to tackle another half marathon in October as she keeps building confidence, distance, and speed.

Outside of running, Robyn is a social worker, a mom, and someone who enjoys yoga, walking, and music. Her go-to run setup includes UCAN with caffeine, Voli or LMNT electrolytes, and her running vest, which helps her feel prepared and safe on every run.

Stories like Robyn’s are exactly what the WeeViews community is all about: real runners, pushing their limits and discovering what they’re capable of.
