Join with Youth MOVE CO to build a statewide network to guide improvements for historically underserved young people. You will help us expand capacity to make change via youth driven program improvement to help young people thrive.
About Us: Youth MOVE CO engages youth to increase healthy futures in Colorado. We connect, support,
and build capacity, expand youth and youth adult advocacy to guide positive changes in policies and
programs. We practice authentic youth engagement through youth driven decision making by elevating
youth voices of lived experience. We are creating a MOVE-ment that ensure that young people are
heard and valued as leaders in the agencies, communities, and systems that impact their lives.
Our Lived Experience Statement: Youth MOVE CO is made up of unique individuals with a variety of lived
expertise. Our expertise is vast and can’t be pinpointed down to a single word nor experience, but some
of the things we have experienced include youth homelessness, foster care, juvenile justice, mental
health, recovery, domestic violence, and more. We are “survivors” of our lived experience and want to
be a part of making sure that our experience doesn’t happen to anyone else. We honor the expertise and
voice of youth and ensure that we are led by youth with experience. We Motivate Other through the
Voice of Experience and unite the voices of youth / young adults that creates our MOVE-ment.
Member Duties: The Youth MOVE CO VISTA members will build the essential bridges to adulthood for
transition age youth (ages 14-25) by expanding resources and enhance services for historically
underserved youth. As a VISTA member you will improve outcomes for youth and young adults by
building capacity utilizing the helping relationships continuum by mobilizing transition aged youth and the
agencies who serve them by:
• Addressing social determinants of health to reduce barriers, improve access and seamless service
handoffs for historically underserved youth; maintain and enhance their transition into safe,
healthy, housing; increase wellbeing, and achieve their educational and career goals.
• Establishing local Youth MOVE chapters in local communities to increase social capacity, positive
youth development and power sharing.
• Engage young people as key partners in addressing service deficiencies, increase youth informed
programming development and build better understanding between adult service providers and
the young people they serve.
• Build community connections and permanency for youth.
• Improved well-being for youth through Youth Peer Support in communities.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Ability to commit to one year of service. Interest in
community engagement and youth advocacy. Lived experience and understanding of youth
development, youth leadership and teamwork. General office skills.

Additional Terms: Youth MOVE CO allows for members in service to attend school and work at another
job during off hours.
