One of the most profound things I hear from music therapy participants is how their relationship to music, whether making it or listening to it, is changed. Music is an incredibly important part of meaning-making and caring for oneself. I’m thankful for the opportunity to hold space for the paradigm shift around access to music and meaning making for folks of all walks of life.

AI art is tacky and blah; moreover it’s terrible for our planet, our people, bugs, and birds. But thank goodness made some beautiful art to capture my essence personally as a musical being, a human, and as a music therapist.

I love everything to do with birth. When I was a teenager I thought it was a weird fascination; now, I know that it is a calling.
As your doula, I believe it is my responsibility to get to know you. What is your story? What do you value? (Heck, what's your favorite ice cream?) What is important to you for your birth? What resources do you need? How can I best support you during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum? While your body is busy creating life inside of you, I'm here to assist you, as one client said, "to control the things I can, and accept the things I can't". I can assist you in preparing for pregnancy, birth, and beyond by providing educational, physical, and emotional support. I am not here to advocate for you, but to support you to advocate for yourself. You are the best person to care for your baby, and you are the best person to care for yourself. You got this! I’m here to be present with you and remind you of your strength!
As your doula, I am working to cultivate an inclusive space for women/people of color, q***r birthing folks, and trans birthing folks, and survivors of domestic/sexual violence in the birthing community. Reproduction and birth is such a unique and vulnerable thing to do, and it can be a particularly scary thing for those who are marginalized. So as women, as people of color, as q***r folks, as trans folks, as survivors, this is your space - reclaim birthing. How can I help? How can I listen? How can I better position myself as an ally for just and equitable birthing? It's all about you.
In addition to being a trained birth and postpartum doula, I am clinically trained in music therapy. I recently completed my Bachelor of Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University, and soon I will take the Board-Certification Exam for Music Therapy. I stumbled upon doula care through the work of a few music therapists who are also doulas and have integrated their practices. This is my eventual dream; in the meantime I am here to support my birth clients by any means. I can assist parents in selecting curated birth playlists for their special day and as I advance in my music therapy career, eventually bring more clinical aspects of music therapy into the birth setting.
If you invite me to participate in this journey with you, I promise to devote my energy, mind, and heart to ensuring that you feel supported every step of the way.
