Today is a confusing day for me, for a lot of people in the DNA surprise, adoption, and NPE community, and for anyone navigating a complicated relationship with their dad.

Maybe you’ve had men in the role of father, but never felt truly fathered. Maybe you’re carrying grief, anger, or that quiet ache of not being chosen, protected, or known in the way a father should know you.

There’s pressure to reach out, to perform gratitude, to keep the peace, or “do the right thing,” but if that doesn’t sit right today, it’s okay.

You get to do what feels best for you.
You don’t owe anyone a performance.
And you’re not alone in the tension.

To anyone carrying this kind of weight today, I see you. You’re allowed to honor your truth without apology.
