I recently came across new research that highlights something I see in my own patients: people with tinnitus do much better when they feel supported…not just by clinicians, but by COMMUNITY. (Yes, you really aren't the only one who’s hearing that ringing!). Here are some key takeaways and why they matter:
👂 Having others who understand tinnitus (support groups or peers) helps reduce emotional distress, anxiety, and improves coping.
⬇️ It’s not just about masking or “turning down the volume”...learning strategies, sharing experiences, and being heard makes a big difference.
👥 Social support seems to boost outcomes: people report feeling less isolated, more confident, and better able to manage the day-to-day “buzz”.
So, what does this mean for you?
🌐 If you have tinnitus, consider joining a support group or an online community…you don’t have to face it alone.
🤝 At Elevate Audiology, we’re not just focused on treatments/devices, but coping strategies and ways to connect with others who are going through the same journey. Because when you combine good audiologic care AND social connection, the whole experience changes. What used to feel overwhelming can start feeling manageable. I’m here for the fine-tuning AND the encouragement!

POV: your audiologist says your hearing aids are at 80% of the total volume you need… and you’re thinking, “Wait… you mean they could get LOUDER?! 😳”
Fear not. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had patients say, “There’s no way I’ll want these any louder.” Fast-forward two weeks… they walk back in with a smile, feeling more confident, and say… “Okay, I’m ready…turn them up!” 😏
That’s because your brain is amazingly plastic and can adapt to new sounds over time. And we’ve got plenty of options to make that transition easier:
✨ Gradual adaptation: gradually build to 100% of your prescribed volume
🎚 Volume control: adjust as you need! (even from an app on your phone!)
🤖 Auto-acclimate: the software can gently increase volume for you each time you wear them (no work required on your part!)
Our goal? To make your hearing aid journey a positive, comfortable, and personalized experience. After all, you should have a say in what works best for your listening needs. 💬
Because better hearing isn’t a one-time switch. It's a process, and we’re here to walk with you through every step. 🤍

Tinnitus bugging you?
Here’s the truth 👉 how you think about tinnitus shapes how much it bothers you.
That’s why patient education is such a big part of my approach. When you understand what tinnitus is (and isn’t!) and learn healthy ways to cope with it, the experience becomes much less overwhelming.
✨ Knowledge is power...and in this case, it can also be a relief.
If you or someone you love suffers from tinnitus, reach out today. You don’t have to go through this alone.

“What are my options?”
Once amplification is recommended, this is the first thing patients ask me!
The truth is, there isn’t one perfect solution for everyone. Your options depend on a few key things:
👂 Type of hearing loss: different kinds of loss may need different types of devices
📉 How much hearing loss you have: mild vs. severe loss can call for very different solutions
✨ Your lifestyle: not all of my patients have the same lifestyle, some are more active than others
As an audiologist, my role is to guide you through the process and help you feel confident in your decision. Because this journey isn’t just about “fixing your ears.”
It’s about helping you reconnect with the people and moments you love most!

👂 “Why don’t mummies have time to fix their hearing?”
🧻 Because they’re too wrapped up in other things! 😄
🎃 Happy Halloween from your friendly neighborhood audiologists! Whether you're dodging jump scares or trying to hear tiny trick-or-treaters yell “BOO!” from behind their masks, we hope your day is filled with sweet sounds and even sweeter candy.
🕷️ And remember: the only thing scarier than ghosts and goblins…
is untreated hearing loss. 😱 We’re always here to keep the boo-tiful sounds of life loud and clear.

⏳ “Hearing loss is just part of aging.”
🧴 So are wrinkles. But we don’t skip the sunscreen or moisturizer, right?
👂Yes, hearing loss is common as we age. But common doesn’t mean harmless.
When left untreated, it can lead to isolation, depression, and even increase the risk of cognitive decline.
You don’t have to “just live with it.”
👏 You deserve to live better, with support, connection, and clarity.
Let’s talk about aging well. I’m just one call away. 💬🦻

📣 Tailgates are loud… but missing half the conversation? That’s a real fumble. 🏈
I hear it all the time: “I do fine one-on-one, but when I’m in a group, I can’t keep up.”
That’s not you being distracted…it’s your ears working overtime in noisy places.
The good news? You don’t have to sit on the sidelines. With the right hearing care, you can stay in the game and enjoy the chatter, competitive banter, and the laughter.
👂 If you’re tired of missing the play-by-play off the field, please call us. I’d love to help you hear it all.

😧 I’ll be honest…taking the first step toward treating hearing loss can feel scary. Change always does.
I’ve had so many patients tell me they were nervous to walk through the door because they weren’t sure what to expect… Would the investment be worth it?
Would hearing aids actually help? Would they feel “old” if they wore them?
I get it. That fear is real. But here’s what I’ve also seen: once they take that first step, they realize they weren’t stepping into fear, they were stepping into freedom.
Freedom to connect, to laugh without guessing the punchline, to fully live in the moment again.
👉 “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision that something else is more important.”
✨ And your relationships, your joy, your confidence…those are worth so much more.
If you’ve been putting off addressing your hearing loss, maybe this is your sign to take that first (brave) step.

March 2018
Very few people know what an audiologist is until they need one. I did not know what an audiologist was until I was ready to become one!
In late 2007, I sat down with a speech researcher to talk about language and human interaction as a sophomore neuroscience major. I left that meeting realizing I needed to change my major. Audiology merges human interaction, education, and the brain- exactly what I was looking for but needed someone to show me the way.
Throughout all of my experiences, I’ve continuously looked at how to improve a situation or process. My profession is no different. During graduate school and early in my professional career, I would see how things ARE and how they COULD BE.
10 years later, in late 2017, it was time to bring all of those notes and thoughts together to start the best audiology practice there could be. With the support of my husband, family, and friends, Elevate Audiology- Hearing and Tinnitus Center became a reality.
I’m on a mission to empower and educate those with hearing and communication needs as well as those with bothersome tinnitus. There is no reason for people to struggle in these areas unnecessarily. Every decision has been significantly thought out with the patient’s experience and needs in mind. We want to elevate the lives that we touch while elevating what is expected from the audiology field. Not only do we educate our patients and their families but we also continue to educate ourselves to ensure best practices.
We will work for our patients, our community, and for the field of audiology through improved access and advocacy.
