The tiny peeling fingers.
The soft, dry little ankles.
The way their brand new body is still adjusting to the world.

Most parents worry about it.

But to me?
It’s part of the story.

It’s proof that they were just here… just new… just fresh from the safety of you.

Those little flakes disappear so quickly.
In just a few short weeks, their skin smooths out, and this “brand new” stage is gone forever.

And one day, you’ll miss even this.

I don’t retouch it away.
