Meet Alison Ortega! Alison is currently serving her first term as a MSHF board member.  She enjoys helping parents strengthen their bonds with their children through communication in the pediatric outpatient setting. “It is priceless to see their joy as they observe their children develop new skills” Alison believes in supporting the next generation of SLPs with MSHF scholarships, so students can focus on their clinical skills and education. Here is an update from Kassidy......"I have been working for the Jackson County Intermediate School District as a school based speech-language pathologist for 4 years. I primarily work with elementary aged children on articulation, language, and augmentative communication. This career is beyond rewarding each and every day. A few of my favorite moments as an SLP include: seeing a student say "I love you" to their parents on an AAC device, starting a peer to peer program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, seeing the excitement of a student eliciting a sound for the first time, and advocating that all voices matter."
