This time of year can be so busy. Holiday prep, gatherings, and travel. Working to keep the magic of Christmas alive for the children. Rushing and running and feasting and all the things.
I know I often get to Christmas break ready to collapse and deeply needing that time to reset.
But this year, for the first time, I took a little break in the midst of it.
Five days in hocking hills, deep in nature, exploring the gorgeous parks in south central Ohio, putting devices down, and just settling into peacefulness and rest.
I hadn’t been to this region in 20+ years and was in awe of the natural beauty so close to home.
And coming home to be cozied in the most darling A-frame cabin with a hot tub and fire to warm us was magical.
May we all find moments to pause and rest in the midst of this holiday shuffle. To shut down the to-do lists and be present to your own heart, spirit, mind, and tune into your connection to the natural world and the souls that matter to you.
Presence is a practice. This was part of mine.
Happy holidays.
