Local 2377 firefighters were dispatched to Oakleigh Dr. in Springettsbury Township for a reported structure fire during shift change.

Ironically, shift change is one of the safest times to have an emergency in our area — because staffing is at its strongest. Our community deserves that level of response all the time, not just for a brief window each day.

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️

This Valentine’s Day, we’re not looking for candy—we're looking for commitment.

Commitment to safe staffing.
Commitment to fully staffed apparatus.
Commitment to protecting our community the right way.

Because when you call 911, you deserve more than the “minimum.” And let’s be honest—nobody wants the minimum in a relationship.

Running into a burning building takes an incredible amount of courage and bravery — and our firefighters do that every single day.

Today, I’m proud to announce $37 million in grants to fire companies and local EMS all across Pennsylvania, including $16,000 for Dickson City Fire Department here in NEPA.

These men and women represent the very best of us. To every first responder, from firefighters to EMS providers — we’ve got your back.

We just hope both teams have fun!

Always plug your space heater directly into a wall outlet. Never use an extension cord or surge protector, as they can overheat and start a fire. Keep the heater at least three feet away from anything flammable and never leave it unattended.

This photo is from an incident where an overheated surge protector caused significant damage.

Dangerous cold temperatures and icy conditions are affecting our area. Please take steps to protect your family, neighbors and first responders.

✔️ Slow down on icy roads and sidewalks
✔️ Clear snow and ice from walkways
✔️ Use space heaters safely — keep them 3 feet from anything flammable
✔️ Avoid overloading electrical outlets
✔️ Bring pets indoors — cold temperatures can be life-threatening
✔️ Check on elderly neighbors and those without heat

🚒 Cold weather increases emergencies and strains response resources. Prevention helps keep firefighters available for emergencies.

Stay warm. Stay safe. Look out for one another.
