This should have posted prior to the cinnamon ice cream post...

Well.. that didn't suck! Protein ice cream!

I had planned on posting pics of how I converted a part of our basement into a home gym(still will). But instead. This happened.

I got my wife this Ninja Creami Deluxe for Christmas. She's been talking about it so we could make 'healthy' sweet alternatives.

She first made peach and strawberry, which were good. But then... She wanted some protein based chocolate peanut butter ice cream. This did NOT disappoint! There is the ever so slight hint of the protein 'flavor' from the but it quickly dissaptes when you realize this is 'healthy' ice cream! This is my first time using and it will not be my last!!

Here's what we used for this batch:

8oz skim milk
8oz unsweetened almond milk
2 scoops Levels Chocolate Peanut Butter whey powder
2T chocolate PB powder
2T sugar free chocolate pudding
2t monk fruit sweetener

Non-scientific macros for this are:
25C
12F
68P
495 cal

Keep in mind, this made a quart of ice cream, so we split it and the macros between us.

We currently have 3 more test batches waiting in the freezer for tonight (friends coming over to play cards), will post the info on those varieties after they're made and taste tested!

Stay Tuned!

Hello!

I haven't posted much lately, but things are still going great! Just been busy with life, job hunting, starting a new business and trying to get that off the ground (more to come on that!), and teaching CPL classes.

My 1 year post op came and went almost a month ago. I plan to get some of those dreaded before and now pictures posted. The loose skin is in full effect!😳.

On my 1 year anniversary, I had lost a total of 161lbs. I had stalled out for almost a month at right around 215lbs, which I was actually VERY ok with! Then after a business trip (our new business I eluded to above), my body decided to start letting go of more 😳. Since that point I've dropped almost another 10lbs. I'm now down to 205lbs and I'm hoping the weight loss stalls again!

My focus now is to really get a hold of my macros and be able to find out what my body needs to stay healthy and focus on growing my muscles to help fill the skin some! I am VERY happy with the results I've seen with my workouts. I'm seeing muscles and definition I've probably not seen since my late teen years and maybe just into the start of my 20s.

I hope to begin posting more as it relates to my workouts, macros and my attempts to gain significant muscle mass/definition. Just need to get this business moving and growing.

Promise, I'll get 1 year pics put up soon, with a warning for those who know me personally in case you don't want to see the HONEST truth of where I was and where I've come to over the past year.

Stay true to your journey and keep at it!

WHAT?!?!? 😳

I hit my first initial goal this morning, after a 4 week stall!

I'M NO LONGER CONSIDERED OBESE!!!!!!

Not stopping here. Although I've hit my first goal and 156lb weight loss (it's weird to say that!). I'm still pushing forward to be as healthy as I can be!

I forgot about this date, this milestone, this anniversary of the first day I decided to reclaim my life.

One year ago today I walked into my surgeon's office and started down the path to freedom and a new life.

Looking back it's amazing to see the changes I've made, the things I walked through and the new life that has emerged.

Wow. One year. Over 150lbs gone since that day. I now am excited to be able to get into the gym, rather than being filled with dread and anxiety at the sheer exertion and physical exhaustion it would require for 20 minutes of "work". I have become so much more in control of my eating. The cravings that controlled me no longer are an issue because I am now in control of them. Positive and amazing changes physically, continue to surprise me.

If you're reading this and you're on the fence or contemplating surgery. Make sure you continue to educate yourself, but don't let fear hold you back. You can do it and it can work for you if you put yourself in the right place to do it!

I wish I hadn't waited so long to make this decision, but I am glad I did make the decision finally.

It's been 11 months since I started down this path.
It's been 8 months since surgery.

150lbs lost 😳 as of this morning.

By the calculations I "could" have lost this much as part of a "best case / perfect scenario" situation when I first started but I NEVER thought I'd get to experience that scenario (there's my lack of positivity towards myself that used to be such a prominent part of my life). I am 6lbs away from my first goal of 220lbs. A goal that I was concerned might be too "small", but it's not. A goal that I was concerned would make me feel small, yet I see more muscle growth and definition than I've seen in a LONG time. A goal that now I can see may not be my stopping point, but rather just a milestone as I continue towards a healthy and fit new me.

One year since starting this journey is coming soon, 1 year since surgery is right after that. I have excitement and anticipation for what those two milestones will bring. So strange to be excited for me, for myself, to look forward with positive anticipation. SO STRANGE. SO EXCITING!

What???? 😳😳😳

- 10 days on vacation.
- No scale to weigh food, having to guess at weights, amounts, and eating some things I wouldn't usually eat (still well behaved, just not 100% strict).
- Eating too much a few times, and paying for it afterwards (I don't have a sense of being full until it's too late, hence why I weigh out my portions).
- probably not getting enough water in.
- 2 airplane flights (water weight gain)

Yet, I come back and jump on the scale this morning... Prepared for a gain, and I would be ok with it as I expected it.

NO GAIN!😳😳😳

Not only no gain, but I LOST ONE POUND!😳😳😳

Crazy!!!

Now back to my controlled eating, portions, macros, workouts, etc!

I have to say I am slightly proud of myself for doing so good on vacation. I was worried I'd fall off the wagon, but I think I did pretty good!
