We are excited about the future of South River Pediatrics! In March, we are embarking on a new journey and becoming part of Zarminali Pediatrics.

The South River team has delivered care to generations of families, always keeping our patient’s best interest at heart. Zarminali (pronounced "zar-mee-naah-lee") was founded on that same premise. With a name rooted in the meaning, “something that is more precious to you than gold,” Zarminali believes children are our most valuable gift in life and is devoted to partnering with parents and guardians through every stage of their child’s healthcare journey to create a better pediatric experience.

While our name is changing, the expert, compassionate care you know and expect is here to stay.
We'll share more details in the coming weeks, however, today
💙How you contact the office or make an appointment remains the same.
💙Our clinic locations, teams, hours, and phone numbers have not changed.
💙This change does not impact the insurance plans we accept.

Thank you for choosing us for the care of your most important gift—your children!

It’s Burn Awareness Week! 🔥 Burns are one of the most common childhood injuries, often caused by hot liquids, sun exposure, fire, electrical contact or household chemicals. Even small burns can lead to serious pain, scarring or infection.

Know what to do if a burn happens:
• Cool the burn right away under cool running water.
• Remove clothing near the burn unless it is stuck to the skin.
• Cover with clean gauze or cloth and seek medical care if the burn is oozing, involves sensitive areas, or continues to hurt after a few hours.

Prevent burns at home with simple habits:
• Keep hot drinks and foods far from little hands.
• Turn pot handles toward the back of the stove.
• Never carry a child while holding hot liquids.
• Set your water heater to 120°F.

A few small changes can prevent life‑altering injuries. If you ever worry about a burn or need guidance, our pediatric team is here to help. Call our office anytime.

Is bus transportation available for your child? Many parents have concerns about bus rides, especially on the first day of school or when older students start causing trouble. Safety is always the priority, and reviewing the basics can help your child feel confident and secure.

Here are a few important tips:
✔ Wait for the bus to stop before approaching from the curb.
✔ Stay seated and avoid moving around while the bus is in motion.
✔ When getting off, cross at least ten feet in front of the bus and only when the driver signals it is safe.
✔ Always check for traffic before crossing.

Encourage your child to follow these rules every day. A safe ride means peace of mind for parents and drivers too!

Gentle, nurturing touch can help babies sleep more restfully, relax deeply, ease digestion and colic, improve circulation, and feel safe and connected. As we step into a new month, consider adding a few minutes of calming massage into your baby’s routine. It can make a meaningful difference for both of you.
