I'm feeling so grateful today.
Grateful for every listen, every share, every quiet moment someone chose to sit with something hard alongside me.
This podcast started as a small step of curiosity, and I wasnt sure how far it would go. It's grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m excited for what’s ahead — more honest conversations, more depth, more space to slow down and reflect together.
Thank you for being here. The best is still coming. 🤍

📚✨
I get asked all the time what books therapists actually read — not the textbooks, but the ones that help us understand people, patterns, and the hard parts of being human.
So this year, I’m reading my way through this stack (minus one still in the mail 👀) and talking about it on the podcast.
Each month, I’ll share what stood out, what challenged me, what I agreed with, and what I didn’t — through the lens of both a therapist and a human.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the self-help world, this series is for you.

My biggest motivation, my biggest "why" is not a certain number on the scale or a certain finish time of a race. Its the little eyes that are watching. My kids always want to exercise with me, and think getting strong is just what we do 💪🏻

Most New Year’s resolutions fail—not because you lack discipline,
but because you’re aiming at the outcome instead of the habit.
Stop asking: “What do I want to achieve?”
Start asking: “What can I practice consistently?”
Small, repeatable actions change who you become.
That’s where real transformation happens.
✨ Which habit would help you most right now?
Save this for later or tell me in the comments.

January brings a lot of pressure to change everything—fast. And for a lot of people, that pressure just leads to burnout.

Today’s episode of Let’s Sit With This is a conversation about New Year’s resolutions without the pressure. I’m joined by my friend and colleague Megan Secrest Gift of Grit Counseling, LLC and we talk about why resolutions often fall apart and how to set goals that actually fit your real life.

If you’re tired of starting over every January, this episode might feel like a relief.

My fitness journey changed when I stopped trying to hate my body into change.
I chose movement I enjoy.
I focused on strength, not shrinking.
Strong is better than skinny.

Perfectionism sounds like protection,
but it often keeps you stuck.

Progress happens when you allow imperfect action.
Good enough is brave.
Good enough is healing.

Social media makes it seem like workouts need to be aesthetic, curated, perfect.

Not here.
Here it's simple. It's real. It's doable.

Stop waiting for the perfect setup.
Start where you are. 💪
