Yes, I am a health coach.
Yes, I want something from you. Actually I want something FOR you. I want you to start moving everyday so you can start enjoying the benefits of a consistent fitness program.
It’s not sexy. It’s not exciting. Sorry! Why do I want this for you? I believe that when we feel better, we do better. When we do better, the world is a little kinder, gentler place.
Fitness has been my way of making the world a better place for 25 years.
Now, exercising for 10 minutes is not going to stop global warming or end racism, but maybe- just maybe- if we start having a bit more energy, a bit more strength, maybe we WILL have the motivation to go and fight the good fight!
Last night I had an assignment for my Cultural Psychology class about oppression- specifically how violence is used to oppress. I chose to focus on violence against women. I first started working out because I wanted to be strong enough to A) Fight Back and B) Run Away as fast as possible. Here I am, 47 years old, and nobody messes with me. I am one of the lucky ones, but it’s not just luck. I got myself in shape and I’ve stayed in shape.
I don’t workout to look good. I workout to be strong, to be fast, to be agile, so I can live a life of freedom and independence.
