A new cycle of our Infant Developmental Movement Education Program is starting in Italy in 2026 through Leben nuova!

This program trains people to recognize early movement patterns and to interact effectively with infants in gentle, enticing ways that will have a positive effect on their growth and development. The goal in movement education with infants is to help set a foundation that supports pathways of ease, strength, agility and adaptability and to help avoid restrictive patterns of movement that inhibit the development of the full potential of the child.

All courses are taught in Italian and English with consecutive translation.

Become an Infant Developmental Movement Educator!
The School for Body-Mind Centering® Infant Developmental Movement Education (IDME) Program is a highly sophisticated and subtle approach to the observation and facilitation of normal movement patterns in infants.

The approach incorporates the child’s curiosity, interest and individuality into the relationship with the educator. It is child centered and relationship centered, and child oriented rather than task oriented.

It trains people to recognize early movement patterns and to interact effectively with infants in gentle, enticing ways that will have a positive effect on their growth and development.

The goal in movement education with infants is to help set a foundation that supports pathways of ease, strength, agility and adaptability and to help avoid restrictive patterns of movement that inhibit the development of the full potential of the child.

This program is currently offered in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States.

This program is a highly sophisticated and subtle approach to the observation and facilitation of normal movement patterns in infants.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Silvia Mamana, whose vision and commitment were central to the growth of Body-Mind Centering® and somatic practices across Latin America. She directed and brought the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education and Infant Developmental Movement Education programs to Argentina.

Silvia's warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with her. She championed somatic exploration with passion and persistence, helping to weave together a vibrant community that spans many countries. Her presence, guidance, and care will be profoundly missed.

We hold her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched with love and compassion in our thoughts during this time of grief.

The School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education Program explores the richness of the relationship between body, mind, movement and touch in the context of our dynamic Embodied Anatomy and Embodied Developmental Movement approach to Somatic Movement Education.

Students are introduced to the foundations and fundamentals of embodiment in working with themselves and others.

School for Body-Mind Centering® programs offer an experiential approach to movement, the body, and consciousness.

People who study the Body-Mind Centering® approach come from a variety of backgrounds but they all share a common interest in the body-mind relationship and want to learn an in-depth, experiential and embodied approach.

Whether you are involved with a movement practice (yoga, dance, athletics, martial arts, etc.), work in a therapeutic setting (occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychotherapy, child development, etc.), or are engaged in other expressive arts (visual arts, music, etc.), our programs offer an opportunity for professional development and/or personal growth.

Most courses in this program may be taken individually or in combination for personal growth or professional enrichment without commitment to the entire program.
