As we wrapped up the last class of 2025 last night, we totaled $400 in donations to Samaritan’s Purse!!

Thank you to all our clients & students who continue to show up to this sacred space WE get to call OURS. This space that allows us time to pause & experience a peace that surpasses all understanding to simply wash over us. A space we ask God to fill with His presence everyday - every session, every class. We wish you all a year filled with abundant blessings & opportunities to grow & heal in all the ways your heart craves. May God continue to meet you where you are, provide you with the strength & grace to accept what was… & to be hopeful for what will be!

I was invited to be on a podcast by the very talented Mason Markland as he embarks on his newest endeavor, The Human Side Podcast! His vision is to uncover the journey of our local small businesses; giving them a platform to share their story and sense of purpose for listeners to connect with and understand on a deeper level.

Mason is a yoga student of Masaya Wellness. Because of his appreciation & connection to the space, he knew this is where he wanted to start. I am so honored that he asked me to be his first guest! Mason has a natural gift of communicating with others. This ended up being a fun and relaxed conversation I didn’t know I needed. I think it’s incredible that he wants to use his talents to highlight our community in this way. When we choose to acknowledge the light in others, we all shine a little brighter. ✨

Going back to school, new responsibilities / expectations & just navigating a new experience in general can be overwhelming for teachers, parents & students. At Masaya, we believe in approaching all moments with prayer & allowing the Holy Spirit to lead the way.

Join Melanie for a fulfilling hour of restorative poses accompanied by gentle breathing exercises. As you meditate on God’s promises over your life, you’ll calm anxiety & get in a prepared mindset for a new school year ahead.

I’d like to reintroduce the studio side of Masaya Wellness as we’ve had a lot of new inquires about our classes. Please read carefully before scheduling…

We have a cozy & intimate studio where our students have truly become family. We offer a variety of classes designed for all levels. Modifications will be given to make the practice suitable for each individual, taking what you need & letting go of what you don’t. The instructor will place a flip chip on the front of your mat where you can choose whether or not you are comfortable with hands on assistance during class.

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate 7 / 9 students per class. Pre-registration with payment online is required in order to reserve your spot. We encourage you to bring your own mat for the heated classes but do have them available if needed. The room is cleaned before and after each class.

If you need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, we require a minimum 2 hour notice so that the instructor has ample time to fill the spot. You have the option to reschedule your own class online with reasonable timing. You can also call, email or text your instructor directly. We will respond as soon as able. Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes early to sign waiver (first time only) and get settled. Class begins on time and the front door will be locked both for safety & to minimize any outside distractions.

This morning I took some quiet time to catch up on my neglected charts. We usually spend so much time before & after sessions talking with clients, these often get set aside for later. (For me anyway… India is much more organized than I am!) SOAP notes are a common thing for massage therapists (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan). It’s beneficial to keep us informed of each clients needs & current ongoings. The more we write down the better we can pick up where we left off.

As I was going through my recent client charts, adding some comments, updates, issues & news etc, I couldn’t help but feel as though I was journaling, rather than documenting. From one chart to the next, I wrote about our sessions & conversations. When someone feels remembered, it shows them they are heard & valued. And to us, they are!

To the client whose spouse is hospitalized with a terminal illness…

The woman who is undergoing treatment for cancer and her concern is for the loved ones caring for her…

The mother trying to be present for her family while working a full time job…

The mom helping plan her son’s wedding…

The parents preparing for their child’s graduation / start to college & wondering where the time has gone…

The woman grieving the loss of one parent while still caregiving for the other & trying to not forget herself…

The newly retired person trying to find purpose & identity...

The woman emotionally drained as she mentally prepares for yet another fertility treatment…

The woman who finally got pregnant after years of trying…

And to the client who just learned her mother is cancer-free!

All these life experiences are absorbed into our bodies in one way or another. Grief that you can taste. Joy that you can smell. Despair that you can feel. In a lot of ways, we get to experience these moments with you. So as I ‘journal’ about it, know that I lift you in prayer as I write, just as I did when I got to hold space for you.

Thank you for continuing to trust us with all the things your heart carries through our door. The heavy, the happy & everything else in between!
