When a baby is born, parents are told conflicting things about how long & how often to feed baby. This can include advice about how many minutes baby should be at the breast and how long baby "should" be able to go between feedings.

It is important to watch for early hunger cues, not the clock, to determine if your baby needs to eat. Nurse frequently and avoid schedules. Let baby fully drain one side before switching to the other.

Early hunger cues include:

-putting their hand in their mouth
-licking their lips
-making sucking sounds
-sticking the tongue out
-squirming
-rooting

Crying is a LATE hunger cute. Try to feed baby before he/she is frantic and fussy. It makes it much harder to latch them on and calm them down if they are already crying.

When your baby is full, he/she will be relaxed, or fall alseep. Baby will come off the breast with a calm body and will no longer be showing signs of hunger.

A sweet baby girl born to a repeat family for me. 🤍 this family is near and dear to my heart.

After enduring a tough pregnancy, mama just didn’t have the birth she planned for. Although I was unable to be present for her during her birth due to an appointment turned cesarean delivery, I was able to take some fresh newborn photos for her.

I have decided to start offering birth photography and fresh 24/48 hours, as well as all my other services. 🤍 birth holds such a special place in my heart why wouldn’t I want to try and capture the beauty of it all for my clients. I am honored that this mama picked me to be present with her again through out her journey.

Sister, if you are called to physical motherhood you are called to sanctity *through* your birth, not in spite of it.

It's time to lay down the idea of just making it out alive. It's time to honor that God has a task specifically for you through this pregnancy and birth that no one else can accomplish BUT you. It's time to enter into the mystery that He wants to LOVE you through this birth.

It is through your very body, completely woman, that He wants to make you a saint and call you to the greatness for which He made you. He didn't make a mistake. He made you, body and soul, to glorify Him through this birth and to be glorified through this birth.

He wants to reveal to you the strength, the authority, the trust, the surrender, the power, the receptivity, the softness, the sacrificial love that He is ready and wanting to pour out into you through this. He is that generous. You are not just a conduit or a vehicle He wants to use. He wants YOU. YOUR heart changed. YOUR mind transformed. YOUR soul ravished in His love. YOUR body joined with His in its own unique paschal mystery. This birth is a part of that. He wants to transform you and make you new through it.

It may be ecstatic or it may be painful.
It may be quick or it may feel slow.
It may be simple or it may be complex.
It may be joyful or it may be sorrowful.
It may be obvious or it may feel obscured.

For many it will be a mix of all of that, a messy and beautiful transformation of every part of us into mother. If we let Him.

We can be saved through our childbearing. We aren't free to dismiss that sacred Word He gave simply because it makes us uncomfortable. We can try, of course. That's not for me... I'll let the experts handle it... I'll just go with the flow... That's not my particular style...

But we know deep down birth is meant to be an intimate encounter, that something is lost when we run away and harden our hearts in fear.

Radical trust in Him and in His plan for your body, your baby, your birth will not be left void. Let it be done according to His Word.
