Sensor Stopper is a device used to cover the sensor of automatic toilets. This idea was created by an 8 year old with Aspergers.

Our son Mason was diagnosed with Aspergers at the age of 4. He was always had a strong fascination with toilets and an extreme fear of automatic toilets. We decided that we just can't council his fear and anxiety and letting Mason become part of the solution was an excellent decision. He has a brilliant and creative mind and together we talked about solutions. He decided that a way to stop the sensor would be the best solution. We worked with a local company in Elk Rapids Michigan to create a product that sticks to the sensor, stopping the mechanism temporarily, allowing the child to relax and use the toilet. We produced a small number of these sensor stoppers and sent them anywhere Mason would be-school, to the homes of grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends. When Mason's occupational therapist saw our product she let us know that there are likely thousands of kids out there just like Mason that could benefit from his product. It was the idea of helping other children (and their parents!) that we decided to market it. Our only hope is that it does exactly that! We don't expect to get rich from this idea, but any money we do make we plan to put into Mason's college fund. With what this child has been able to accomplish before his 9th birthday, we know that he is going places in life and we couldn't be more proud of him :)

Sensor stopper piece of advice-put them in EVERY vehicle, including campers! Mason was NOT a happy camper this weekend :( Raising kids is a "you learn as you go" job indeed!!
