Detectives from the NYPD’s Warrant Squad collared a Bronx man and charged him with a slew of crimes in connection to the chaotic street takeover in Middle Village early Saturday morning.

Asil Assaidi, 22, of Williamsbridge Road in the Pelham Bay section of the borough, was booked Thursday morning at the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood, where he was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of riot two counts of criminal mischief and other related crimes, less than a day after Council Member Phil Wong met with NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to discuss the investigation at One Police Plaza.

Assaidi was seen smiling as he was escorted out of the 104th Precinct, and the only word he said was, “No.” He was talking to friends of his who were across the street filming his walk, and they were all laughing.

The NYPD has released additional surveillance images of three of the eight suspects who are wanted for participating in an illegal street takeover in Middle Village during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 18.

Detectives from the 104th Precinct and Queens Borough North are asking for the public’s help in identifying the eight suspects and any others who took part in the Palestinian flag-waving crowd that included more than 100 vehicles, two of which were located in the neighborhood and impounded by the NYPD, according to Council Member Phil Wong, who briefed reporters after a meeting with NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch at One Police Plaza on Tuesday.

There have been no arrests and officers are still looking for the eight suspects, including three who were seen wearing Palestinian keffiyeh scarves to hide their identities. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the eight suspects.
